There's no reason for the trademark Tivoli sound to be kept inside. Not when you have an iPAL. With just three knobs, it's the antithesis of today's increasingly complex electronic products. But, behind the simple appearance of the Portable Audio Laboratory is a storehouse of advanced technology that enables higher fidelity sound reproduction and better radio reception than anything else anywhere near its size or cost. A specially treated and magnetically shielded heavy-magnet, long-throw 2.5" driver is allied to a multi-stage frequency contouring circuit that adjusts the speaker's output over half-octave increments. The result is musically accurate tonal balance and bass response. Your iPAL contains the same technology and quality found in the Henry Kloss Model One Radio, encased in a rubberized, weather resistant cabinet. By the pool or on the patio; at beach parties or on camping trips; anywhere you want high performance, low hassle entertainment is a perfect place to take your iPal.

Remarkable Reception

Instead of a standard, off the shelf integrated circuit, the iPAL uses a state of the art, discrete-component FM tuner featuring GaAs MES-FET mixers. This technology was originally developed for cellular phones but Henry Kloss realized the benefits it held for FM radio reception and included it in his iPAL designs. The result is vastly improved reception and increased clarity on closely spaced stations. You enjoy stronger and much clearer reception from your favorite stations and with the superior tuner, you may find stations you never knew were there. Tuning in your favorites, both old and new, is a pleasure using the large analog tuning knob with its geared down 5:1 tuning ratio that provides easy and accurate tuning. Your iPal's tuner also features Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) which locks on to the center of the signal you have tuned in, providing the best reception and lowest distortion possible. The adjustable telescoping antenna extends and rotates for improved reception and the iPAL also has a built-in AM antenna. The solid reception and great sound of your iPAL is sure to make it the life of the party.

Ingeniously Simple

Sometimes you just want something nice to listen to and don't want to have to perform complex calculations and contortions just to turn on the radio. The simple, straightforward design of your iPAL makes it very easy to get along with. Large, easy to read dial and large, easy to grip knobs make tuning and adjusting your iPAL simple and precise at the same time. An auxiliary input is provided to connect a CD player, MP3 player or similar device. There is also a stereo headphone jack that enables you to enjoy private listening when you want or you can use it to connect a recording device like a CD recorder or tape deck, or use your Model One radio as a high quality outboard tuner. Your iPAL also comes with an environmentally friendly rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride battery pack that has no memory effect and can be fully charged in about 3.5 hours, providing many hours of cordless playback (AC adapter is also provided).
