Surround Sound Smorgasbord |

| This receiver not only provides you all the surround sound excitement of Dolby Digital and DTS, it takes it a big step further with the latest advances in home theater sound; Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES. Dolby Digital EX is an extended version of the Dolby Digital Multichannel Audio System that adds a matrixed surround back channel. Through a sophisticated encoding and decoding process, surround (back speakers) is reproduced by three different signals instead of the two surround channels of traditional Dolby Digital. This produces higher definition and a smoother sense of motion. DTS-ES is upward compatible with the conventional DTS format and significantly improves 360-degree localization and spatial expression creating even more realistic surround effects than before. Depending on your system and personal preference, you can choose DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 or DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 for playback of DTS soundtracks. You can even enjoy 6.1 channel surround sound from conventional stereo sources thanks to DTS Neo:6 surround. Dolby Pro Logic II processing also provides options for enjoying surround sound from stereo sources with both movie and music modes. |

| The RX-D412B provides an all-digital HDMI connection to give the highest quality picture and sound available. HDMI is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high definition (HD) video and uncompressed multichannel audio in all HD formats: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Since HDMI carries both video and audio, there is only one cable to plug into any HDMI-enabled source and display device. No more complicated cable set-up when installing your home theater system, and no more ugly cable mess behind your components. An integrated remote provides simple control of your system. HDMI has built-in intelligence that can automatically configure your system on demand. Using this feature, with the click of a single button, your remote control can tell your HDMI-linked system which components to turn on or off to view a DVD, listen to a CD, or watch cable or satellite TV. Automatic format adjustment matches content to preferred viewing format. Digital content comes in a variety of sizes, resolutions and formats. HDMI systems will automatically configure to display the content in the most effective format. If cable TV content jumps from 16:9 format to standard 4:3, an HDMI-enabled TV can automatically adjust to the ideal format. PC compatibility enables viewing of comuter data on your HDTV. HDMI-enabled devices are backwards compatible with a broad array of DVI (Digital Video Interface)-based PCs so you can display computer gaming or entertainment content on your HDTV. |

| The JVC Digital Acoustics Processor (DAP) allows digital recreation of acoustic environments, like halls and pavilions, in your media room. JVC developed a new sound field simulation technology jointly with one of the leading concert hall designers and contractors. Capable of handling multichannel sources, it makes use of a vast amount of data for the creation of sound field patterns that are difficult with conventional processing systems based on field-measured impulse responses. Each sound field pattern is verified and modified repeatedly by critical auditions. The result is that sound fields are reproduced most naturally, with early reflections simulated realistically. Just push a button and your entertainment room sounds like a Dance Club or one of the other incredibly realistic virtual venues. |

| One Touch Operation means you can make precise sound adjustments (volume level, equalizer response, etc.) source by source, and automatically recall the customized settings each time you choose an input or tune a preset station. The AV COMPU LINK Control System gets your entire audio/video system (TV, VCR and receiver) up and playing, simply by loading a prerecorded tape into your VCR. It works for DVD playback too. Just load a disc into a JVC DVD player and press the PLAY button to make all your system ready. One touch operation allows you to make precise adjustments to individual sources that your receiver will remember when you select the source. Quick Speaker Set-up allows you ease of set-up, just input the room size and number of speakers and the receiver takes care of the rest. |
