Advanced YST

Yamaha's patented Advanced Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) generates incredible bass from small speaker enclosures. Advanced YST is the ideal method of combining amplifiers and speakers for maximum performance. This system's advanced negative impedance converters intelligently adjust the negative impedance generation as the speaker moves, creating a hard, rigid cone that prevents deep resonant waves from leaking out of the speaker cone. This means the full power of the waves is forced out through the air port, resulting in clear, powerful bass.

Comprehensive 5-Disc Player

With versatile format and disc compatibility (not to forget the ability to load 5 discs at a time!), the DVX-C700 will play almost any type of disc you are likely to have: Super Audio CD, DVD Audio/Video, DVD+R/+RW, DVD+R/RW, Audio CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD and VCD discs, as well as discs with MP3 (multisession) and JPEG (multisession) files. With this wide range of video/audio formats to choose from, nearly all popular computer media files can be recorded to a DVD or standard CD on your PC and then viewed or otherwise enjoyed using the DVX-C700.

The DVXC770 is equipped with a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). This is the first and only digital interface to combine uncompressed high-definition video, multi-channel audio and intelligent format and command data in a single digital interface. HDMI switching, providing the most advanced method of delivering high quality video signals to a home theater system to enable the reproduction of DVD and satellite TV sources with HD quality. Compatible with the DHMI Ver. 1.1 format, it can also decode digital audio signals from sources such as DVD-Audio, CD, Dolby Digital and DTS.

You'll enjoy more than CDs and DVDs with the DVXC770. Its receiver is XM Satellite Radio-Ready, allowing you to hear over 150 digital channels of music, news, sports, talk and entertainment from America's number one Satellite Radio service. With the addition of the XM Connect and Play digital antenna (sold seperately) just subscribe to XM Satellite Radio and hear radio as it was meant to be. An optional YDS10 Universal Dock lets you connect your iPod to the DVXC770's receiver. You can listen to your iPod music and watch iPod images and movies on your monitor via the receiver. You can also operate your iPod via the receiver's remote unit with the On-Screen display and charge your iPod. This feature works with: iPod nano, iPod mini and iPod (Click and Wheel).

Super Audio CD/DVD-Audio Compatibility

The DVXC770 is equipped to deliver compatibility with high-quality DVD-Audio and Super Audio CDs (SACD). DVD-Audio is an extension of the highly popular DVD format, distinguished by its capability to deliver high quality multi-channel audio capability previously unavailable in traditional packaged audio media. DVD players that support SACD use a technology called Direct Stream Digital (DSD) to convert music into a digital signal that can be stored on a disc. Compared to the traditional PCM method (the technology used for CD), DSD offers a much high resolution by following more closely the original waveform of music. With a frequency response of over 100kHz and a dynamic range over 120dB across the audible frequency range -- some 64 times higher resolution than CD -- Super Audio CD offers music reproduction that reveals details you just can't hear on a normal CD.

But That's Not All

The DVXC770 supports the DivX digital format. DivX is the video compression codec developed by DivX Networks and based on the MPEG-4 compression format. Its balance of high video quality and low bit rate has made it very popular and quickly established it as the best home video format thus far. The ability to play it on newer DVD models continues to add to its popularity as DivX Networks advances its support to many new household products. This compression technology has the potential for expanding the ways we view video media in much the way MP3 has given us many new ways to listen to music.

Feature Rich - Even At Night

During low-volume listening, such as late at night, dynamic range suffers and you may have a hard time hearing some sounds or miss them entirely. The Night Listening Enhancer offers two modes, Cinema and Music, with three-level selectability which will ensure that you don't miss movie dialogue or faint passages, or lose overall surround spaciousness. This cool feature works with all surround programs, including Dolby ProLogic IIx.
