First, the sheer enormity of this washer's internal washing capacity lets you wash large loads of laundry. Larger loads mean fewer loads, and fewer loads mean less money spent on water and energy. Second, a Load-Size Sensing Indicator determines the size of each load, giving you the information you need to select the right wash cycle and amount of detergent. No more wasting water, power and detergent by over-estimating load sizes.

Lots of dizzy duds

Let's jump to the end. Your new WM2455HG washer features five spin-cycle speeds, giving you total control over the care given to your clothes. An Extra High speed cycle — with a maximum speed of 1,200 rpm — delivers high-efficiency water extraction from sturdy clothing while a Low speed cycle — 400 to 950 rpm — and a No Spin option take extra care of delicate items. The other two cycles — High and Medium — complete the range of clothing-care options.

Washing forces I: Physical

Count 'em. One. Two. Three. Your WM2455HG washer uses three interdependent forces to bring you a careful, healthy clean. The first of these is physical force. Principally, it is the gentle motion and abrasive action of water that scrubs spots and grime out of your clothing. The motion of your WM2455HG's internal components — like the rotation of the stainless-steel drum — agitate the water and clothes, causing clothes and water alike to rub into one another, forcing stains out. RollerJets&trade, designed into the WM2455HG, use washing balls and spray jets to enhance wash performance and reduce damage to clothing.

Washing forces II: Thermal

The scrubbing action of water has an ally in its quest to wash your clothes — thermal washing forces. When the motion and abrasive properties of water aren't enough to force out stubborn grime, the use of heat — in the form of heated water — steps in to loosen spots and stains. Because different garments have different needs, and because water that is too hot can wear or damage certain items, while it might be necessary to get other clothing clean, your WM2455HG features a variety of wash and rinse temperatures. Choose from Extra Hot/Cold, Cold/Cold, Hot/Cold, Warm/Cold and Warm/Warm and choose a careful clean for your clothes. In addition, a Sanitary cycle, using 158°F water, brings you a healthy clean by killing off nasty microbes.

Washing forces III: Chemical

All three washing forces are interdependent. Water and heat depend on one another to be able to do their jobs, and the third force — chemical agents like detergents and bleach — depend on heat and water to be dissolved and brought into contact with your clothes. Your WM2455HG features a four-tray dispenser, dispensing prewash and wash detergents, bleach, and fabric softener during the wash cycle.
