| In 1996, Pete Vann, the founder of Vann's, Inc., decided to make his employees part owner in Vann's. As of 2005, Vann's has become a company that is 100% employee owned! As owners of a company that has had a great deal of success in the past, the employees are committed to carrying forward the traditions that began more than 40 years ago. Any full time employee, age 21 and over, that works for Vann's for at least 1000 hours a year is eligible to enroll in our ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) after their first full year of employment. The great part about our ESOP is that it's completely funded by the company, you don't have to buy stock - it's given to you! That's just one of the great reasons to work for Vann's. After Pete Vann founded Vann's, there were many days, Pete recalls, when he would go to work early in the morning and return home late at night. The basic problem was that when Pete sold a larger appliance, he would have to help deliver it. Needless to say, Pete sold a lot, so he worked late a lot. Many of us may think about selling a little less, so we could be home a little more, but Pete was dedicated to his business. Soon it started to grow. It wasn't long before Pete opened stores in Hamilton, Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell and more recently, Billings. Today, Vann's has 6 physical store locations as well as a store on the Internet. That same outstanding work ethic that Pete started his company with is here at Vann's today. Since so many of us are employee owners we take pride in what we do and work hard because we all know that what we contribute to the company will be returned to us in improved stock values and overall company success. That excellent work ethic has lead us to become a leader in Montana. Vann's is Montana's Largest Indepedent Retailer. |

| Our Company Motto is - Whatever It Takes. We really mean it too. It's not rare to hear stories about our employees going the extra mile to satisfy a customer; it's what we strive to do every day. We employ knowledgable professionals and give them the training they need to become experts in their field. In fact as an example, our salespeople spend the equivalent of a month training each year so our customers can have confidence that they'll be getting the right product every time. Although we haven't officially been using the phrase "Whatever it takes" as our motto for long, it's been integrated into the way we do business since Pete Vann opened the doors to the first Vann's store over forty years ago. By listening to customer comments and concerns, we are able to continually improve our services. After all, we think of our motto as more than something that goes at the top of our company letterhead. |
