Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console has splashed onto the gaming scene with a go-big-or-go-home style. The word ?powerhouse? comes to mind, and for good reason. A custom ATI graphics processor clocks in at a blistering 500 MHz. With 512 MB of RAM, the Xbox 360 is eight times more powerful than the original Xbox. The hard drive boasts a whopping 20 GB of space. The Xbox 360 offers all the space, power, and speed you need to enjoy the newest HD games available. You could even burn your own music onto the machine and create your own soundtrack as you play.
Xbox hears loud and clear that high definition is in. Games are required to be authored for 720p and 1080i, and all games are optimized for the 16:9 widescreen-viewing ratio. With HD capabilities, gaming characters look more colorful. Need for Speed cars race across the screen in fluid, clear images. But don’t worry. You don’t have to have an HD-capable television to play the Xbox 360 games. They’ll always look good, but they’ll look spectacular on an HDTV.
Xbox 360 is first and foremost a gaming machine, and the number of amazing launch games and the intense, personal focus on the gamer’s experience cannot be denied. But Xbox 360 is also the center of your digital entertainment world. Not only will it play DVDs, but the system supports CDs, DVD-ROMs, DVD-r/RW, MP3s, JPEGs, and more.
More than playing your current media library, the Xbox 360 has online access, too. Xbox Live, the premier console online gaming service with more than two million members, is getting even better. With a huge new center of online commerce called Xbox Live Marketplace, you can access messaging and downloads, or even online multiplayer games (with Xbox Live Gold subscription).

Multiple USB ports, wireless integration, and an expansive array of game titles help make the Xbox 360 just a little more palatable (as if you needed another reason to want one). So you might be left wondering: what more do you really need? Well, if kids are involved, filters are a big plus. If you still saw monsters under the bed, Xbox games would be overwhelming, too! Features like Family Timer, Online Status, and Video Communications give parents (and kids) a little more peace of mind.
