A handy Quick Start feature runs on first use, asking you to set language, distance units, time zone, and time. After that, you're free to move about the US and Canada using the pre-loaded North America base map.

With the GPS500, you can have it any way you do, or don't, want it. Travel by Route Priority, Distance Units, or GPS Data. View routes entirely or turn-by-turn. Stop navigation. Add a destination. Or, travel according to what you don't want to encounter: uturns, unpaved roads, toll roads, permit roads, border crossings, ferries -- and for the truly adventerous -- highways.

An Interface That Works With You, Not Against You

The Guide and Play interface is big. Four inches big. Big enough to easily see in a glance as you motor down the road. And it displays 65,000 colors to easily distinguish waypoints from detours. Two Color Modes give you optimal brightness whether Day or Night. Plus, it mounts quickly to your window, dashboard, or console with the included hardware.

The Guide and Play will give you hours of reprieve from all that noise in your head with its internal MP3/WMA player. Created to work seamlessly with Windows Media Player, syncing music is a snap. You can listen to music through the built-in speaker, or connect it to your car stereo using a mini-jack RCA cable (sold separately).
