I had a Harmony 880 for 5 or so years. The volume up button died, so I bought the Harmony One. I remembered very positive reviews of it in the AV magazines when it came out 2 or 3 years ago. Love it! Programming is so easy, it feels solid and even luxurious in my hand. The touch screen is cystal clear and very responsive, it seems to throw out a strongerwider beam than did the old 880. This is a superb remote in every way I can possibly think of, and Vanns is terrific as always. SL

The remote turned out to be an outstanding selection as well as a value price. The remote handles my Marantz receiver,Direct TV HD DVR,Panasonic Blue Ray player,My old Emerson VCRDVD player, and a Sony 300 CD player Along with the 65 inch Samsung 8000 Smart TV. It does EVERYTHING. A very cool surprise was that the remote goes to sleep when not used AND wakes up when moved to be used for a function.
Very nice product!!!!!!
Thank You

This is the most non-intuitive piece of equipment of any kind I have ever purchased.
I am, as of April 3, 2011 convinced I have to return this as something I simply have no use for.
Product support will not accept calls from me by telephone as they say they will for 3 months.
Purchase was made on March 17, 2011.
There is nothing about this product that makes anything easier to operate.
Just the opposite, every single piece of equipment I purchased is now more difficult to use.
There is no positive statement I can make about this product.

It does seem to work. For the easiest tasks, it performs flawlessly, but takes a few moments to get used to. But there are several problems. One is that there is no user manual, so if there are questions or you have forgotten certain directions for its use, the Manual that comes with it is generic, and there are no answers to real questions. Another problem is the battery and charger. There are no directions for removing or replacing the battery, and the charge icon is so tiny as to be nearly useless. Is it worth $250? Barely, unless you have a problem jugglung multiple remote controllers.

First of all, it seems to be doing what it should it replaces a handfull of individual remotes. It was programmed by the installers, who did everything correctly as far as we know. But after they left, I had forgotten most of what they explianed, and ran into a big problem. The manual is not a user manual, but a programmers manual. By much trial and lots of error, I am finally getting used to it, and it does seem to work well. There are still many mysteries, but I at least can do the basic stuff.

The best remote Ive ever used, really easy to set up via a laptop. We went from using four remotes in the home theater to just this one.
Best part about it is that my wife and kids enjoy how easy it is to use.
The only fault I have with this remote is that I wish it wasnt so spendy

I've had the remote control now for a few weeks. I must admit that so far it has performed very well. The touch screen requires just a soft touch to get all of my components going. The remote turns on my tv, cable box, and sound amplifier. If you want to use your dvd player, you must first load it up and then turn the dvd player off before you use the touch screen to get everything on. No big deal. The only problem I have is not with the remote but the lack of knowledge I have about it because there is no manual. I really dont know what all of the touch screen options and buttons are for. Also, if something goes wrong, what do I do? I have absolutely nothing to refer to. I guess I could call the store and ask someone there to walk me through it. Not very practical. But overall, I like the remote. Its much better then having to use three or four remotes everytime I want to use the tv.

If you were like me, and had 6 remotes on the coffee table, this remote is for you. If every time one of your family members wanted to watch TV, you had to set it up for them, this remote is for you. It does everything it says it can do and more. It has every button of every control you own, you can set them to wherever you want on the touchscreen, and if somehow it doesnt have the button, it can learn it! The computer interface is smooth and is easy to learn, yet still complicated enough to do all that you would want it to do. It comes with a rechargeable battery and dock so its always ready to go, and you know just where it is. This remote is spectacular. I put all my other remotes in a shoe box and put them in the basement!
Compared to other similar remotes, this remote is easily the best. Ive had other remotes from Harmony and this is definitely the best of the best.
The only possible issue with the remote is that it cannot control a PS3, and its the PS3s problem not the remote. PS3s use Bluetooth to control the system and the remote doesnt use Bluetooth. You CAN, however, get what they call an IR dongle which you can plug into one of the PS3s USB ports which will allow you to do everything but turn on the PS3. Thats what I use and it works great. They arent expensive.
