Samsung's LNS2641D is for the consumer who damands the highest quality -- and value -- in a wide screen HDTV LCD. Its 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, HD-grade resolution and advanced technology deliver a remarkably crisp picture in vivid color. With the new S-PVA panel you not only get a wider viewing angle, but also a crisper picture. The slim, black frame incorporates side speakers that deliver SRS TruSurround XT sound; two HDMI inputs allow connectivity to a wide range of digital devices, including digital satellite/cable boxes, camcorders, HD DVD upcoverters and more. The 26-inch size is perfect for bedrooms and kids' playrooms.

HDMI (High Defintion Multimedia Interface)

HDMI is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video connection. HDMI provides the best interface between a DVD player and compatible products. When matched with a compatible component, this single interconnecting cable combines: Multi-channel audio, uncompressed digital video, intercommunication between devices and simple control protocols. This single cable connection ensures that all signals remain in their pure digital form and secure by use of High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) regardless of signal output resolution. The LNS2641D features two HDMI connections.

Through its PC connection, the LNS2641D LCD can function as a high-resolution PC monitor and a high-end TV without any sacrifice in picture quality. Outperforming PC monitors in brightness, response time, resolution, and of course, screen size, Samsung lets you adapt to the expanding multi-media revolution. You can easily connect your favorite compatible MP3 player to your Samsung LCD television and control your music right from your TV. Easy controls and interface allow you to plug n' play your music while having a special event or just enjoying music in your living room. In addition to the HDMI and PC connections, you get a component video input (480i/480p/720p/1080i), S-Video and composite video inputs, and a coaxial antenna input.

Even when viewing regular broadcasts, the LNS2641D's virtual surround sound makes you feel as if the theater has been brought to your living room. SRS TruSurround XT is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through the two-speaker internal playback system.

Covering All The Angles

Left side, right side or upside-down, whatever your LCD TV's location, Samsung's solution allows you to see any display clearly due to the 178-degree wide-viewing angle. Horizontally and vertically, your LNS2641D LCD TV will always be well placed to enjoy the entertainment no matter what your angle of view is.

Getting A Great Picture

The LNS2641D's 1366 x 768 pixel resolution LCD screen is HD-grade, with a built-in image scaler to handle inputs from a variety of digital and analog audio/video sources. Samsung's DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the contrast, detail and white balance while reducing noise. A 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes over time, to reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Progressive scan technology eliminates the flicker that you see on traditional, interlaced scanning TVs, while an 8ms response time minimizes the blurring of moving video.

Other Useful Features

The LNS2641D not only looks and sounds great, it's also a pleasure to use. A built-in digital tuner (ATSC) means you don't need a set top box. The set's V-Chip system allows the blocking of rated TV and movie programs determined by a parent to contain objectionable content. Auto channel search helps you find those favorites, and picture-in-picture (PIP) enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video or PC sources. There's a variable sleep timer to turn the TV off in varying time intervals, while an auto volume leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing. Finally, the multi-lingual on-screen display offers direction in English, Spanish, or French.
