Sweeping views
Whether you're on top of a mountain, on top of a skyscraper, or out on the water outside a major city, you have the perfect opportunity to snap an engaging panoramic sequence of photos. So, what do you do? Well, first you pull out your tripod and hook it to your camera. Then, you carefully position your tripod on a level, stable surface. Then you slowly pivot your camera, snapping a new shot every thirty degrees or so. Finally, you cross you fingers and hope everything turns out. Or . . . you scratch the tripod, multiple exposures, the whole she-bang and use the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370's Sweep Panorama mode. Take great panoramic shots quickly, easily, and consistently by simply pressing the shutter button and sweeping the camera in the desired direction. Using advanced Sweep Panorama technology, the DSC-W370 continuously shoots images at a high speed, then seamlessly stitches the images together with automatic position adjustment to create a single, stunning panoramic image. With the DSC-W370's Wide and Ultra-wide options, you can capture panoramic shots up to 185°! Just press and sweep. (Psst . . . Sweep Panorama can even be used to shoot sweeping vertical shots!)
More muscle
Heading up Sony's W300 series Cyber-shot digital cameras, the DSC-W370 delivers some beefy specs. Take a gander: Allowing you to capture exceptionally clear and detailed digital images, the DSC-W370 sports a 1/2.33" Super HAD CCD image sensor capable of a 14.1-megapixel capture resolution! Not only are you ensured images with superb contrast and color, but the 14.1-megapixel resolution allows you to enlarge prints far beyond the 8" x 10" format without sacrificing any detail. Stepping up from the W350 model, the DSC-W370's Sony lens delivers expanded, professional-quality optical performance. Look to the 7x optical zoom to reach out and capture precision shots of distant subjects when shooting outdoor, sports, or travel photos, and turn to the 34-238mm equivalent focal length for mid-range telephoto capabilities. Next, serving up a powerful and versatile tool, the DSC-W370 features a large 3.0" LCD viewscreen, great for composing, reviewing, sharing, and editing your shots. Finally, an advanced BIONZ image processor delivers exceptional processing speed for high-resolution, high-performance digital photography.
The full repertoire
With the DSC-W370, it's "no-holds-barred" when it comes to advanced shooting modes. Intelligent Scene Recognition mode automatically detects nine different types of scene conditions and selects the appropriate camera settings within 1/30th of a second. While Face Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and controls flash, focus, exposure, and white balance to deliver accurate, natural skin tones, an Anti-blink Function captures two images, recording only the photo with the least squinting, and Red-eye Reduction reduces common red-eye problems. Further, Smile Shutter Technology automatically detects and captures a smiling face so that you never miss a happy shot. Then, while Motion Detection technology reduces blur in moving subjects by increasing the shutter speed when motion is detected, SteadyShot optical image stabilization combines with high ISO sensitivity to dramatically reduce image blur resulting from shaky hands and to allow for flash-free shooting in low-light situations. Finally, an Easy Shooting mode helps beginners take great photos by providing easy-to-understand instructions on the 3.0" LCD screen and by automatically selecting exposure settings, allowing the photographer to focus their attention on the subject.
Your HD directorial debut
From snap shots to scenes. That's right . . . movie scenes. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370 equips you to shoot high definition 1280 x 720p video footage. Not only can you capture great, impromptu moments with friends or family in HD, but because the DSC-W370 records in MP4 format, you can easily transfer your footage to your computer, and then on to the internet and sites like Photobucket or YouTube where you can share them with everyone.
Just a little touch up
You always want your photos to look their very best, even if you're just sharing the latest shots with friends right on the LCD viewscreen. Accordingly, the folks at Sony have equipped the DSC-W370 with a few in-camera retouching tools. Allowing you to give your most recent images a little touching up before you get home to do some serious editing, this Cyber-shot camera offers in-camera trimming, red-eye correction, and unsharp masking.
Music, too?
It's pretty natural to want to create a slideshow highlighting your latest adventure for sharing with friends. Equally as natural is wanting to add a little musical accompaniment to your slideshow. Thanks to PHOTOMUSIC technology, the Sony DSC-W350 lets you do just that. Pair your photo slideshow with one of the DSC-W370's four pre-loaded five-minute audio tracks to create a multimedia show, complete with visual effects. Or, transfer your own favorite tunes from your computer to create fully customized slideshows.
