Everything you want and more
The LG 47LW6500 LED 3D HDTV has it all, and then some. This 47" beauty features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution with LED backlighting and local dimming for incredible contrast and detail. There are plenty of different picture modes, and Picture Wizard II and ISFccc-readiness ensure that your picture is fine-tuned to be "just right," while an Intelligent Sensor adjusts the brightness based on your room's lighting so the picture maintains optimal brightness, day or night. The sensor also helps save energy, leading the 47LW6500 to earn ENERGY STAR certification. But this LED LCD has much more to offer. It's also 3D TV, so you can enjoy the latest Full HD 3D Blu-rays. It will even upconvert 2D content to artificial 3D, and the LW6500 will let you adjust the depth on your 3D so it looks natural to you. Four pairs of 3D glasses are even included! The included Wi-Fi adapter gives you even more entertainment options. DLNA certification lets you access media from other devices (like PCs) on your home network. But the fun really smarts with Smart TV and the LG App Store. Smart TV offers instant streaming from a wide variety of top content providers for movies, TV, music, and even photos. Meanwhile, the LG App Store lets you download a variety of fun and useful Apps to your TV, from social networking to entertainment to informative Apps. With this TV, your entertainment options are virtually limitless!
Not all 3D is created equal
The LG 47LW6500 utilizes passive 3D technology to create the 3D effect. With passive 3D, rather than having two separate pictures per frame, one frame is shown with the pictures for both the right and left eyes. The glasses feature special polarized lenses so that each eye only sees that part of the picture meant for it. Not only does this make the glasses lighter, more affordable, and more comfortable, it offers a wider viewing angle and smoother picture. Passive 3D is the same technology used in 3D movie theaters. Because of its numerous advantages, passive 3D systems like LG's Cinema 3D TV are actually preferred 3 to 1 by movie-watchers. So as you shop for a new 3DTV, remember that not all 3D is created equal.
What's in the box?
Included with purchase is the TV, tabletop swivel stand, 4 pairs of 3D glasses, Magic Motion remote, Wi-Fi adapter, power cord, and manual.

After doing a lot of research on my future TV I was sold on the LG LW6500 at a great price from Vanns. The general picture is fantastic once I tuned it a little I did find the energy saver features to be a bit dark, so I was forced to disable them, but the TV looks great even with a backlight setting of only 30. The online apps are a excellent, although a bit slow to load. One of the factors of this TV is the passive 3D technology. I was not sold on passive until after LGs latest firmware update in the Fall of 2011. This improved the technology to make it as good or better than active shutter glasses options from other brands. In addition, the glasses are cheap and light weight. You can even use the ones from the theaters, so its easy to build a storage of them for friends and family. Hooked up to my PS3 I have watched Thor and Tangled, and was extremely impressed by the picture and 3D effects. Playing Gran Turismo 5 was also a treat. You will not regret this TV

Great product all around for the price. I purchased with no great expectations after researching extensively , & reading every review I could find. Would have liked RCA audio outputs , & expected the sound quality to be as in several reviews. There are simple ways to improve on what can not always be perfect , all at a very reasonable cost. Worked well for me. Quite satisfied. 3D is O.K. to very good depending on all the variables associated with it. 2D viewing is excellent. Features are generally , for me , quite addequite. Had to purchase without experiencing it 1st-hand due to it not being available in my area. Very glad I did.

I absolutely love this TV! I had previously picked up an LG 47LW5700 from one of the big box stores. I liked the features of that LG, but it was just a stripped down version of the 47LW5600 120Hz and the 47LW6500 240Hz. I saw the 47LW6500 at Vanns site and decided the 240Hz was worth the few extra dollars. I received the new TV a couple of days later and was very impressed with it. The 3D on the 47LW6500 is even crisper than the 47LW5700, which is also top- notch . The LG 3D does not seem to have the depth of the new Vizio models I have checked out, but the LG definitely shows more detail in 3D. The 2D picture is also great. The local dimming on the backlit panel along with the edge lighting helps give this TV a 9M1 contrast ratio, which is also far superior to the other LED televisions I have checked out. The 47LW6500 seems to be built better than the 47LW5700 as well. It feels like it has a beefier housing, and it has a neat clear bezel and base edging that makes the blend into the surroundings. The 47LW6500 has a great controls package. I really dig the magic motion remote because the simple wireless mouse makes it easier to surf the internet and use the apps. I have come to really appreciate the standard backlit remote that comes with this model. It has nice touchscreen control buttons at the bottom front edge of the bezel, wheras the 47LW5700 has regular push buttons on the back similar to the other LG non-3D models. The great combination of features and the low price make this TV a great value. It is easy to use. It outperforms all of the other televisions I have had a chance to use. Overall I am very happy with this television.

I am not an expert on TVs, but I did sell them for several years when I was younger. This is an amazing TV. The picture is amazing. The 3D is great, but I do mostly 2D viewing and the 2D image is outstanding. Compared to my 50 inch Sony, well, there is no comparison. The colors are vibrant without being overpowering. The black levels are fantastic. Set up is a breeze. I cannot recommend this TV more. We would have gotten the 55 if it would have fit over our mantel. This is my first LG tv and, now, it wont be my last.

Weve had this tv for two weeks and it is everything I expected and more. Amazing picture and tons of features. I was initially leaning towards a comparable Samsung, but the active 3D glasses and glare on the screen swayed me to this LG. The passive 3D works great, the glasses are cheap and dont have to fret about them getting broken, and I wont have a couple hundred dollars worth of active glasses siting in a drawer waiting for the occasional use. The comparable Samsung was hundreds of $$ more so this became an easy choice. Dont get me wrong, the Samsung also has an amazing picture, but this tv is a better value.

Threatening to upgrade to HD for awhile now, I ordered My LG 47LW6500 when I saw Vanns great price. The set arrived on time, in perfect condition, and was easy to set up. The quality of the picture is unbelievable and I got the picture brightness, contrast, color, speakers just like I wanted with a minimum of trial-and-error hint Set expert contrast control and black level to medium, not high. Continuing my online Christmas shopping, by chance I saw the same set offered at a still LOWER price by a competitor. I called Vanns to ask if they had a low price guarantee policy and they DID. I took the $139 rebate out in a Blue-Ray CD player and extra HDMI cables. Dustin was more than helpful explaining how Blue-Ray and HDMI work, alerting me to the fact that to get true HD, an HDMI connection is a necessity. Ill definitely choose Vanns in the future when shopping for quality electronic products.

It was simple to connect to the wifi, and the apps are simple to use. If theres something it doesnt have, I dont know since its my first. For me it was the perfect choice...

This flatscreen is amazing. First off, it shipped to us really fast. Like two days. After mounting it to the wall, its pretty much ready to watch without having to do hours of set-up and the picture is amazing. I have heard some negative comments about the audio on the TV but, I havent used it since I have everything hooked up to my surround sound system. So, no negatives from me on that aspect. Plus the TV is almost credit card thin. Im not sure how people would expect them to put huge speakers in it. Anyway, my kids, and I love the 3d option. Its totally easy to use . Pretty much everything exceeds my expectations. We love it. Like I said, its my wife and Is new date night.

However, this one had a flaw in the border and when we contacted both Vanns and LG, their attitude left something to be desired. About 3 years ago I bought a 42 inch hd plasma and I set it up and thought wow it cant get any better , then I got the itch for a 3D TV and I started looking I settled on the lg 5500 series but after 6 days of reading I understanded that I needed 4 main things 1. 1080P 2. LCDLED 3. 240 hertz 4. Passive 3D The 47LW6500 is the one with it all This tv delivers allll of it and when hooked up the cable box com cast I turned on the movie 2012 and my wife said holy crap you were right ! this is amazing , I can see every detail ! My kids yelled wow !!!! Wow daddy !! Wow ! Then I took a look and all I can say is it looks like your standing next to the director And you can see details you never thought were there , make sure you use a High speed HDMI cable any one will do eBay 7 bucks works perfect. And the 3D is so easy its crazy Put in 3D movie and put on glasses and press 3D Easy fun fast perfect eye popping 3D ! The sound sucks but the tv is razor thin and there is no room for good speakers so hook up some surround sound or a radio of some kind It makes you feel like your there and it is sooooo different when its in your house , you cant tell how great it is at the store but when you set it up in your house ...... Magic begins !! Also a blu ray is a MUST !!!!

Vivid colors, first time I used the 3d was with comcast hd, good but not so great experience since comcast just handle 720p, so I give another chance with vudu tron 3d in 1080p 3D was fantastic, 3d glasses are lightweight. 2D is great, sometimes you will notice at the top left corner and at the bottom right corner that tv can produce same levels of brightness, this is a common problem for LED tvs. Poor sound. LG apps are average, don't expect too much. Still its a great tv, affordable and half price than plasmas.

This TV sets the standard for HD 3D. The picture quality is unbelieveable not only in Blu-Ray but also TV channels in HD, Digital or standard broadcast. Re-watching older movies brings more to view then previously noticed and makes the movies seem like watching something first time. This TV is fantastic not to mention how great 3D movies look. This makes theatre 3D look inferior... the clarity of any viewing, be it 2D or 3D is fantastic. Thanks VANNS and thank you LG!!

First tv purchased since purchasing a lcd and a plasma tv 2 to 3 years ago. Technology has changed greatly since then. The blacks are black, no ghosting affect, wireless internet was easy to setup in less than a minute, my wife thought the HD youtube videos were actually from the cable box or dvds, and the swivel tv stand is a plus. Picture is so clear, you can differentiate between real graphics compared to computer generated graphics, such as smoke and fire burning. 2D to 3D still needs help, but the actually 3D bluray playback looks good. I wish their was a optical input. The tv stand wobbles and doesn't feel sturdy. *Customer service with Vanns was unexpectedly great. This was the first product I purchased with them. Usually companies with great prices, cheap out on customer service, but this wasnt the case with Vanns. I had to return for an exchange. I've since spent $1000 after this incident and will be back.
