BRAVIA LED meets the internet
Brace yourself for a dramatically expanded Sony BRAVIA cinema experience. Sure, by now you're used to the sharp, high definition realism, vivid colors, and smooth video reproduction for which Sony BRAVIA LED LCD panels are known. Now it's time to discover a new dimension of the BRAVIA experience. With Sony's EX700 series LCDs, BRAVIA meets the internet. All you need to enjoy a variety of new features is an existing home network and/or a broadband internet connection. Hook the KDL-32EX700 to your network via an ethernet cable, and you're ready to go. To begin, BRAVIA Internet Video lets you enjoy select premium and free on-demand entertainment — access online video, music, and more from over 20 providers, including Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand, YouTube, Sports Illustrated, and more. Further, the KDL-32EX700's DNLA compatibility gives you the ability to access digital photos, music, and video from your PC or other DNLA-enabled devices, right on your BRAVIA HDTV! Finally, plug a separate Wi-Fi dongle into the USB port, and you can access online and network content wirelessly!
Smooth sports, seamless action . . . Motionflow 120Hz
Okay, sure, you're going to enjoy watching the evening news or TV dramas in life-size HD on a big-screen flat panel HDTV. But let's be honest, in your quest to achieve the theater experience in your living room, you're really interested in watching something else. Something with a little more suspense. More intensity. More brawn. In other words, the latest action movie release or this weekend's big sports game. There's a problem, however. You see, not all HDTVs can deliver sports and action movies with the same lifelike grandeur you're looking for. As it happens, most TVs are designed to reproduce video at 60 frames-per-second; that is, they flash 60 images per second on the screen to create the illusion of motion. Filmed at 30fps, television programming can be easily accommodated by 60fps (or Hz) televisions . . . each frame is simply doubled to match the 60fps. However, most movies are filmed at 24fps, which doesn't divide easily into sixty. Accordingly, 60Hz HDTVs must subject 24fps movies to complicated video processing that often causes a stuttery and jerky picture. The Sony KDL-32EX700, however, does something else entirely. It looks to advanced Motionflow 120Hz technology. Capable of playing video back at 120fps — a multiple of both 30 and 24 — Motionflow 120Hz seamlessly reproduces both TV and film content. As a result, you experience smooth, fluid, lifelike motion, even when watching fast-paced action and sports programming.
The Sony Eco panel
A little-known fact: as long as it's plugged in, your HDTV is consuming power . . . even if the panel's turned off. It's true. Modern HDTVs enter a "standby mode" when their power is turned off, a state that keeps them ready for fast initialization the next time you sit down to watch a show, but that also continues to draw energy. Understandably, these "standby" modes really cramp your efforts to improve your home's energy efficiency. Until now. Presenting Sony's new BRAVIA series of Eco LCD panels . . . the EX700 series. Beginning the EX700's long litany of energy-efficiency design features is a "first' in the world of HDTVs . . a zero-watt Energy Saving Switch. By pressing the Energy Saving Switch on the side of its panel, you enable the KDL-32EX700 to consume zero power when in standby mode, effectively eliminating unnecessary power consumption. Complementing the zero-watt Energy Switch is the EX700 series' Presence Sensor. Using advanced sensor technology, the KDL-32EX700 detects when you've been out of the room for a pre-determined amount of time — choose between five, 30, or 60 minutes — and automatically turns the backlight off to conserve energy. In turn, the volume will remain on for a further 30 minutes while you're away before the HDTV powers off completely, allowing you to continue to listen to the audio from the next room. Keep reading . . . the Eco panel is just getting started.
Ga-ga for Green
These days, energy efficiency and environmental health are important concerns. Not only do you want to keep utility expenses at a minimum, but you are also interested in protecting Mother Nature. As it happens, the folks at Sony share your concerns. Demonstrating Sony's "green" zeal, the KDL-32EX700 sports a variety of energy- and environment-conscious design features. First, LightSensor technology monitors ambient-light levels in your viewing area and automatically adjusts backlight intensity. Not only is image clarity optimized, but power use is minimized when light levels are low. Second, responding to the video content you're watching, the KDL-32EX700's Dynamic Backlight Control also makes automatic energy-saving and performance-raising adjustments to backlight intensity. Third, this BRAVIA TV's packaging and printed materials are made using between 20% and 40% recycled materials. Finally, all these "green" features add up to earn an ENERGY STAR qualification, signaling that this LCD HDTV satisfies the U.S. government's strict criteria for energy-efficient operation. Because it's ga-ga for green, the KDL-32EX700 helps you save money and the conserve natural resources.
Bring on the HD . . . bring on the LED . . . bring on the Sony EX700
There's good reason to be excited: the Sony BRAVIA KDL-32EX700 LCD HDTV sports a Full HD 1920 x 1080p display resolution with edge-lit LED backlighting. In case you're not familiar with "1080p", as it's fondly known, that's the highest definition panel resolution currently available, and an ideal complement to HD movies on Blu-ray Disc, HD television programming, and HD gaming from sources like the PlayStation3. Further, the edge-lit LED backlighting not only delivers enhanced color depth and purity, but also brings you an ultra-thin 2.63" panel depth! Of course, because this is a BRAVIA television, when it comes to the Sony Full HD experience, this is merely the beginning. First, Sony's BRAVIA Engine 3 technology offers a fully digital video processor that employs a collection of unique algorithms to significantly reduce video "noise" and produce sharp, vibrant, lifelike images through which a 1080p-resolution panel reaches its full potential. Second, the KDL-32EX700's Advanced Contrast Enhancer reproduces improved contrast for deep blacks in darker scenes and fine detail in shadows, revealing all the details that the director intended for you to see. Third, an Ambient Sensor automatically adjusts picture color based on lighting conditions in your viewing area, delivering a picture that's tailored to your living room. Finally, Sony's 24p True Cinema technology ensures compatibility with and high-fidelity reproduction of 24fps film-based content. Bring on the HD.
It's all about connections
Today's home A/V components aren't meant to work alone. Rather, they're intended to integrate with each other, allowing for a seamless, interconnected home theater experience. And when it comes to connections, the KDL-32EX700 does not disappoint. Heading the list of A/V connections, of course, are this BRAVIA LCD's four HDMI inputs. As the only single-cable HD audio and video interface, HDMI offers optimal connectivity to HD sources like Blu-ray Disc players, HD satellites, and HD gaming consoles. Next, a rear-panel PC input allows you to convert the KDL-32EX700's LCD screen into a giant, 32" computer monitor. Last, but not least, is the KDL-32EX700's side USB port. Quickly connect to a thumbdrive, your laptop, or a portable audio player, and access video, photos, and music using this BRAVIA HDTV.
Ah, BRAVIA
As a leader in products with HDMI connectivity, Sony has created BRAVIA Sync technology to go beyond simple audio and video transmission. When you combine your new KDL-32EX700 with a select number of other BRAVIA audio and video products, control functions will also be transmitted via the HDMI cable. With "One Touch Play", operations that took several steps are reduced to one. Press the PLAY button on the remote, watch the audio and/or the video component(s) turn on then the BRAVIA KDL-32EX700 television will turn on and switch to the correct video input...Simple...Easy...BRAVIA Sync.
Your HD lifeline
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passes along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater's high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It's only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann's sales representatives are here to explain all of your options. The TV works fine but the additional costs will kill you.
1.You will need to get it calibrated do not relocate it to another residence or you get to do it again.
2. If you expect to connect to the internet you need to either connect it directly to your router with a wire, OR if you wish to connect it wireless then you WILL NEED TO PURCHASE a Sony USB wireless connect for it at about an additional $90.00.
3. You will more than likely have to update the firmwaresoftware because the auto update may not work properly until you do. You can download this for free, BUT you will need to again purchase a Sony USB flash drive because not all flash drives will work with it at an additional cost.
4. If you get a 5006 error code dont wast your time trying to figure it out on your own. It is a Sony DB issue that they will have to fix. The level 1 support has no clue what it is and you will have to navigate threw all the not knowing anything levels to get to the level that does know so be prepared to spend some time. They will have to end up moving your TVs serial number and MAC address to another group and back to fix it and this is way beyond level 1 support.
There is a lot of hidden costs to this unit to keep in mind. The picture is good and the set up can get complicated if you are not electronically-mechanically inclined. Be aware of the error codes and quality of support when you need it. I would suggest adding up all the hidden costs including time to fix potential issues, schedules for calibration Ect, and check on any peripherals you might think shoulddo come with it first before purchasing not only with Sony but with all manufacturers.

love the way the tv looks and performs.the picture is excellent. the sound could use some help, like having the speakers facing forward instead off down. not much tecnical help though. the manual is useless and the on screen menue does not go into enough detail to help with all of the questions you may have. but its a sony and i hope will perform like one for many years. would recomend to a friend. compared with other models the price maybe too much for some.

This is my first HD flat screen tv, so this was a really nice upgrade from my twenty year old RCA.
First of all, I was really happy with Vanns service. I placed my order on a Friday morning and it shipped the same day. With the free shipping, UPS ground, I received the tv the following Thursday.
Ive always been a fan of Sony products, and this tv is no exception. The picture quality for blu-rays and HDTV is superb. I got spoiled really quick! I have the Sony wireless dongle that came with my Sony home theater system, and it works like a champ. I didnt think I would bother with the internet connectivity much, but I was wrong. Youtube, Pandora, and Slacker function flawlessly, but there are a bunch of other services available too just havent tried them yet.
I hightly recommend this television and Vanns.

A feature rich TV with excellent image and sound adjustment, connectivity and general quality. Although marketed as a mid-range set, this LED LCD encompasses features typically not found at this price level. Direct from Sony the 32EX700 is rather expensive, however if you take the time to shop around it can be had for less than $650. I bought mine from the Sony Store for $450 as a brand new, unused open-box item and snagged an in-home 3 year warranty for an additional $50. So shop around and check out a Sony Style or Sony Outlet store for an open-box bargain! Im glad I did.
