Upon attempting to assemble the stands, noticed that one of the pre-drilled holes in one of the bases was out of alignment and thus would not allow one of the legs to be attached. Contacted Vanns and was told they would not send another base until I shipped the bad base back to them. Decided to just return the entire product. Then, had to call over and over to get my money refunded after UPS returned the item to Vanns. Was told the 11 day delay was due to a computer glitch. Will not deal with this company again.

The 30 inch stands are excellent quaility with a very durable and attractive black crinkle finish. They are fairly easy to assemble with the exception of the plastic feet, which attaches to the bottom of the stands, are not labled as being different from one another...though they are. The bottom plate is curved, requiring a left and a right shape, front and back. The stands are extremely sturdy and solid. Regrettably, there isnt any way to fill the steel support columns with sand or lead to dampen them or add weight. The stands are reasonalby heavy as is, though it still would have been nice to have the option. The other miscue. The rubber feet for the bottom and top plates are not clearly discussed in the multi language instruction sheet. I recommend these modestly priced stands.

These stands were easy to assemble, following the instructions and very good quality. The posts can be filled with sand. I have not filled them and they are exactly what I needed to properly position a pair of B&W 601 S2 speakers. The speakers sit nicely on the platforms using the rubber pads that were included. I am still experimenting with speaker placement. The only thing that is missing is a means to hide the speakers wires.

These stands are really solid. And Sanus was great at answering some assembly questions on the phone assembly was straightforward -- just required a tap with a hammer. Unless Im missing something though, wire hiding is not very good. Very large and stable bottom plate.

I bought these because Ive had Sanus speaker stands in the past and thought they would be a safe bet. Packing was a little beat up upon arrival, but the stands themselves were in good shape. When I went to put them together, I noted that the feet did not all fit the same, i.e., some would mount flush to the base, some would not. This caused the base to fail to sit squarely. I looked at the issue and thought that I could fix them buy redrilling or slotting the mounting holes in the feet or the base. I have noted that others have complained of the same issue with stands that wouldnt sit squarely. But I didnt feel that I should be QCing Sanus products for them. I contacted Vanns and they offered an immediate exchange for another set or a credit towards a different set or a full refund. Since I feared the same issue with an exchange, I checked the other stands but found nothing to my liking. I told Vanns of this and they immediately me sent a prepaid UPS shipper. I repackaged the stands and dropped them off at a UPS store. Several days later a credit for the entire amount appeared on my CC statement. Outstanding customer service.

I wanted to stand mount my Ascend Acoustics CMB 170se surounds and I needed 30 stands ear level seated height with a wide speaker base to hold these 14lbs babies stable. I wanted an all metal construction as well. Other sites had these SF30s either out of stock or for a price north of $150. Finally, on the day I decided to purchse these, I checked for the last time if Vanns had them instock. My luck, they had one pair instock and ready to ship for the special in cart price. I jumped on them immedeately. It shipped later that evening and arrived in 3 days to South FL with free ground shipping.
Packaging was excellent. They had a nice weight to them and emerged unscathed out of the factory packaging. The descritption of gloss had me worried a bit for light reflections but they have a very textured, circular pattern on the matte black base and rods. Very attractive upclose and looks dark matte black from far. Easy to assemble and very sturdy and heavy. The feet for the base came with strong rubber tips insert to protect the floors. Very well designed and thought out stands to the price. Used poster clay 3M in Officedepot, DAP in homedepot to tack the 9 W x 10 D speakers to the wide speaker base. Ive had them for over a month now and those Ascends are not budging for nothing. Very stable.
Once again, Vanns saved the day with they best pricing and fast processing. This is my 3rd purchase with them Klipsch Promedia SWS , Pioneer Turntable. When purchasing any electronics online, Ill be checking with Vanns first.

I got these stands for my LSi9s but then found out it was too tall but it was my fault. The stands themselves are very sturdy and held my LSi9s on the 6x6.5 base. The construction was easy following the guide word for word but living near an IKEA, I would have liked to see more pictures for DIY dummies like me. I ended up using it on my LSi7s and they are perfect and held my heavy speakers with no problems. The metal spikes are awesome and there was no need for me to fill in the sand at all. I am ordering another set shorter ones for my 9s!

This was my first time using Vanns and they are the best. The price was the cheapest that I could find on the internet. I purchased the speaker stands on Tuesday and had them on Thursday. The stands are easy to put together. The only tool neaded is a philips head screw driver. They are smooth to the touch and are very stable. I have children and a dog so stability was a concern. Using the carpet spikes they are very sturdy. The stands are holding the Polk Audio T100 speakers and look amazing. I would recommend Vanns to everybody!

The Sanus SF30 are solid weighted steel speaker stands. The finish on them is quite nice on top of the their overall practical yet elegant design. At their price, they are very good.
Pros
Nice looks
Solid steel frame
Spikes
Price
Sand fillable
Cons
Sand-filling was tedious
Took some time to adjust spikes to have stands perfectly leveled
Plastic feet dont look as nice
Overall, I would recommend these speakers stands as a great entry-mid level pair into the audiophile stand world. They have basically everything you can want in a quality audiophile speaker stand, the looks of a great commercial stand and the price to suit a good budget. If you want to have performance on a budget, stay away from those flimsy wood or thin aluminum stands that may look modern and grab these and never look back.

Before these arrived, I anticipated filling them with sand for added stability. After receiving them, I realized that they were more than stable enough, right out of the box. Assembly was pretty straight forward and the instructionspics were easy enough to read.
Overall, Im very pleased with the stands, and am glad that I decided to spend the extra $ to get the steel ones.
