Get ready, get set, get 3D!
Okay, so you've got everything ready: a top-of-the line 3D HDTV, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, and a new 3D Blu-ray movie. So, you're ready to plop down on the couch and enjoy some 3D viewing right in the comfort of your own living room, right? Well, almost! While 3D-capable HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and Blu-ray movies are all necessary for bringing the 3D experience home, there's still one more piece to the puzzle — 3D glasses. You see, in order to create a three-dimensional visual effect, 3D HDTVs must work in conjunction with a pair of active shutter glasses. Because the SSG-3050GB 3D Active Shutter glasses communicate wirelessly with the 3D emitter built into all 3D-capable 2011 Samsung HDTVs, all you have to do is don a pair of these groovy shades, nestle into a comfy spot, press PLAY, and brace yourself for a truly immersive home theater experience.
Three cheers for 3D
Fasten onto your seatbelts! With more and more innovative 3D content coming out each day, join the 3D craze with Samsung's 3D active shutter glasses. Samsung's 3D technology uses the same principles upon which human sight is based to achieve a 3D effect in the home theater. By themselves, each human eye sees only two dimensions. However, because our eyes are set slightly apart, each sees an object or scene from a slightly different angle. And when the brain processes the images seen by each eye into a single image, we are able to perceive depth in what we are seeing. Add depth to the height and width (2D) seen by each single eye, and ta-da: 3D! For its part, a Samsung 3D HDTV actually shows two different versions of a movie on the screen at the same time (alternating frames from each at extremely high speeds). What makes the two versions different is that they were filmed from slightly different angles. Now, 3D Active Glasses communicate wirelessly with the 3D HDTV. Using special liquid-crystal lenses, the 3D glasses alternately block out the left or right lens in coordination with the frames flashing on-screen. Accordingly, the right eye sees only the "version" of the movie intended for the right eye, and the left eye only sees its version. Just as with normal human sight, the brain combines the two versions into one, and voilà, you see 3D. Three cheers!

Its got everything I can possibly want in a big screen TV. I bought the top of the line Samsung with the highest resolution plasma technology and I'm very satisfied. The only fly in the ointment is the Smart TV menu protocol using the QWERTY keyboard with multiple typing sequences. Its awkward to type and a slow paced operation to Search. WIFI is Neanderthal compared to broadcast TV, but I have the same criticism of Cable TV On Demand where the logarithm are so linearly frustrating. This isn't a criticism of the Samsung except that IT has a ways to go on the Wifi interface.

I had no idea I would like the 3d effect on my TV. When I saw the glasses I thought they were a little funky looking. They are actually comfortable, work well and make you look like Buddy Holly. The people at Vanns were great.

Got 3d glasses free with my new samsung tv and the glasses are great. Theyre lightweight and connects easy to the tv. I only wish the were rechargeable instead of battery operated.

These glasses arent rechargeable so buy some extra batteries when these go out. You dont want to be running to Walmart in the middle of Pirates of the Caribbean! Otherwise they work great! I cant tell the difference between these and the rechargeable ones that came with the TV.
