Or perhaps you're just pleased with the long list of convenience features it has. Whatever the reason, it's earned your adoration.

Changing the tune

No matter how advanced they get, electric ranges just can't match the responsiveness and control of gas cooking. And most electric cooktops can't come close to the heating efficiency of gas burners. As a culinary enthusiast, you know this. But you might not know that all gas ranges are not created equal when it comes to efficiency. Whirlpool's GGG390LXS has several tricks up its sleeve to make it more energy-efficient than other gas ranges. For starters, it's a double oven. Why does that matter? Well, heating your food takes a good amount of energy, but so does heating the air around your food. For relatively-small items like a pizza or a pan of brownies, using the smaller top oven uses about a third less energy than a traditional full-size oven. The GGG390 also has TimeSavor Plus true convection cooking, which helps lead to lower energy usage, but we'll talk more about convection later. An Energy Save mode drastically reduces the amount of resources this range uses, cutting it by up to about 60%. With features like these, it's easy to see how the GGG390LXS can cut down on resource use and save you money while you're baking, but that's not where its eco-friendliness ends. Range self-clean cycles are notoriously energy-inefficient because they clean by heating the oven up to a temperature that turns any stuck-on food to ash. But not on this Whirlpool. 6th Sense functionality allows it to use a Smart Clean that adjusts the length of your cleaning cycle to the amount you've used the oven so that you're not paying to clean an oven after it's already clean.

Quicker, better, more efficient

When we think of fans, we usually think of cooling down. But in today's premier ranges, fans actually help get your food cool down. Equipped with a TimeSavor Plus true convection system in its lower oven, the GGG390LXS pairs built-in fans with three bake elements to get your food cooked better, faster, and using less energy. Most ranges use elements to heat the air around your dish. While this gets the job done, there are several reasons convection is better. By using fans to get the air in the oven moving, the temperature stays much more uniform, so your food cooks much more evenly. By keeping the air moving and the temperature even throughout the oven, you can actually use higher baking temperatures in this Whirlpool than in a standard oven. Your food finishes cooking quite a bit quicker and with even more flavor. The quicker cycles also offset the higher temperatures, meaning that you use less energy in a typical convention bake cycle than you would cooking the same food in a standard oven. Quicker, better, and more efficient — what's not to love about TimeSavor Plus true convection? But, we should mention that the GGG390's convection cycles have some help. AccuBake using 6th Sense technology ensures that the temperature in the oven is exactly what you set it at, while extra-large oven windows and automatic bake lights ensure you don't have to open the door to check your food, keeping the hot air from escaping.

And it's super-convenient

Energy-efficiency and awesome convection baking aren't the only benefits the GGG390 brings to your kitchen. It's got plenty of convenient features to make getting dinner on the table a whole lot easier — even the holiday feasts. Obviously, the double oven has plenty of convenient uses, whether you're looking to toss in a Digiorno or want to start cooking your famous apple pie while the bird roasts below. But you'll also be glad to know that if you're not quite sure when the guests will arrive, you can bake your dishes ahead of time, then use the Hold Warm feature in either oven to keep dinner ready to serve at a moment's notice. Delay bake lets you set a start time for cooking in the lower oven when you can't be there in person. Meanwhile, two high-powered burners pair with two AccuSimmer burners and a fish burner to give you plenty of cooktop flexibility. A Sabbath Mode overrides the normal time limit to allow you to use the oven on Sabbath without turning it on. Finally, cleanup is easy with dishwasher-safe burner grates and Precise Clean functionality in both ovens.

As a regular Vanns electronics customer i.e., just helping to do my part in keeping their employees in a job, this is the first appliance Ive ever bought over the internet. Needless to say, I was a litttle skeptical of the whole process. However, absolutely no problems with the ordering or delivery Thanks Vanns for your usual great service! and no problems with set up and installation. So far, the gas rangedouble oven has been great and, most of all, my wife--a perfectionist baker and cook--loves it! She now has two ovens and five burners to use instead of the old one-oven range that just simply ran out of gas. sorry, couldnt help the pun. It was too good to pass up. The only problem now is, I had to go and purchase a matching Whirlpool microwave from another store the same day I installed the new range. Unfortunately, I couldnt find the microwave on Vanns website so I had to buy it from a competitor. If Vanns wouldve had the same microwave I surely wouldve purchased from Vanns as they are, by far, the best out there. OBTW, to make up for not buying the microwave from Vanns, I also purchased a Sony Tablet S, a Canon EOS Rebel T3i, a Sony boombox, and and iPod Touch from Vanns. Thay all arrived on time and as scheduled. Thanks once again Vanns for the incredilbe customer service and quality products! Ive referred Vanns to all my work collegues and friends as there is no one better out there that does it as well as Vanns.

We bought many things from Vanns. This is probably our favorite. With the double oven we can cook in one and warm bread in the other. Pre heats very quick also. Wish we hadnt waited so long to buy it! Thanks Vanns!!
