Listen Up HDTV Owners!
For those of you with high definition television, it just got EVEN better. Hard to believe, but it's true. The DHGHDD250 HD Digital Video Recorder will let you be not only be the master of your home, but of live TV, too. With this little genie in a bottle, you'll be able to record onto a hard drive rather than a tape. This means you'll have the magical ability to record and play at the same time, as well as play and record, play and record, play and record, andÉ well, you get the idea. Imagine the possibilities! Say, for example, you get caught in traffic or called to the phone, you don't have to miss a moment of your favorite shows anymore. Rewind to something you missed. Skip the commercials. Pause for a bathroom break. Or, skip forward to real time anytime you want. You get four fast forward and rewind speeds to provide superior control and demonstrate your true powers, there's even Slow-which allows you to slow down the action anytime (not just replay) for a good, continuous look at the details of the action.
But, What If You Don't Get Digital Satellite Or Cable?
Don't be dismayed if you haven't yet invested in high definition TV, it just means you have more to look forward to- like being able to record up to 200 hours of SD (standard definition) TV to watch on your analog monitor with this HD recorder! That's right. Because this HD recorder has built-in NTSC and ATSC (DTV) tuners, you'll be able to take advantage of both airwaves. Or, even if your television is only HD-ready, the DHGHDD250 will let your view and record HDTV content right off the airwaves, anyway- without have to pay extra. And, then when you do decide to take the HDTV plunge, you'll already be ready to really, really enjoy it!
Cable With No Cable Box? That's Right!
Because this HDTV's built-in CableCARD slot makes it Digital Cable Ready, you can plug the cable directly into your TV and enjoy HDTV and digital cable without having to use a set-top box anymore. And, not only does the CableCARD slot allow you to throw out the cable box, it also functions as a security component, enabling the delivery of secure digital audio and video signals. There is, however currently a limitation to the CableCARD as interactive CableCARDS are yet to come from consumer electronic manufacturers. If you use two-way, interactive services such as Program Guides, Pay-Per-View, or Video-On-Demand services you will want to also have an HD set-top box with your CableCard. But, if you don't use those services, the CableCARD will work great all by itself. And, if you should ever decide that you do want two-way interactive services, HD set-tops are available. If you like interaction though, the On Screen TV Guide might be enough in itself to meet your needs. This interactive program guide makes for easy program searching and scheduled recording. Selecting your show for recording is as easy as highlighting and pressing "ok". You'll be able to automatically record your favorite programs without having to work everything else in your life around the pleasure of watching them. Got held up at the train tracks? No worries. Gotta go pick up the kids? Go ahead and don't hurry back! Those shows will still be there when you get back, whenever you want. Additionally, the easy guide tells you what shows are on, and which shows will be on in your viewing location for the entire upcoming week. Imagine- you are not only all powerful, but omnipotent as well! Your HD recorder gets you all of this for FREE and without a "special" connection.
