The Perfect Solution For Imperfect Discs

Sony DVD players have a solid reputation for their ability to track discs that are warped, dusty or otherwise less than perfect. Now, with the Precision Drive 2 system, they're better than ever. The system uses dynamic tilt compensation to give you the best performance from every disc you play. This improved mechanism is simpler, faster and able to correct for an even wider range of disc imperfections.

Virtual Surround

Even if you don't have surround speakers, TV Virtual Surround modes can generate a convincing surround sound effect. All modes are optimized for use with your television's built-in speakers. Choose the mode that matches your program material and situation. " Standard" mode delivers a wider " sweet spot" than earlier designs. You can sit in more locations and still hear the surround sound effect. " Wide" mode simulates the sound of multiple surround speakers, further apart, for a wider sound image. "Dynamic" is ideal for action movies, bumping up the volume of center-channel dialog for increased clarity. Finally, " night" mode turns down the dynamic volume peaks of action scenes, making it ideal for times when you need to "keep it down".

MP3 Playback

Playing MP3 music on this DVD player is easy. Just insert an MP3 encoded disc and press MENU. A blue screen pops up to display your folders. Scroll down the list using the remote or front panel cursor control to select the folder you want. The green files screen pops up to show the files in the selected folder. Select the file you want to hear and you're done. Finding music couldn't be easier.

Easy Setup

Setup can be confusing and time consuming, but not with Sony's Quick Setup. As soon as you connect your DVD player, the Quick Setup screen appears ready to guide you through the process, step by step, screen by screen. You'll make the right configuration and connections in no time.
