Up-close, without the need for "personal"
There are many times when you'd like to get a close-up photo of something without needing to be right next to it. For example, if you're taking in the majestic beauty of Montana's own Glacier National Park, you may want to snap a shot of a cute Black Bear cub without getting close enough to attract the attention of its mother. Other times, it's as simple as wanting a great picture of your kid in their school play, but you're stuck in the back of the auditorium. In either case, the Nikon COOLPIX L110 can help you out. It has an astounding 15x optical zoom, so it can snap shots of even the most distant objects as if you're close enough to touch them, which is a great help to your pictures, because, trust us, you never want to get "personal" with a mother moose.
Up-closer
Sometimes, the object you want to shoot does require you to be right up next to it to get a good shot. Take, for example, the dewdrop about to drip off a wild ladyslipper on your Glacier adventure. Many cameras limit how close you can get, refusing to put the subject in focus at close range. This leaves you to rely on your camera's zoom. But the problem there is that trying to keep your hand steady while zoomed in on such a small subject is all but humanly impossible. Fortunately, the Nikon L11 allows you to get 0.4" away from a subject in macro mode, so you can get a great close-up shot no matter how small your subject is.
The stability you crave
No one alive has a perfectly steady hand. Usually, the minute movements of our hands aren't an issue. But sometimes, like when trying to take certain pictures, even the slightest twitch of a finger can ruin an otherwise perfect shot. To make sure you capture those shots, the Nikon COOLPIX L110 is equipped with a 5-way VR image stabilization system. This system includes VR image stabilization by shifting the sensor to compensate for minor movements. A new Hybrid VR System combines the sensor shift with electronic vibration reduction for even better stabilization. But the camera's movement isn't the only potential cause of blur in your shots. Motion in front of the lens can also lead to unclear results. The L110 detects motion and adjusts the shutter speed and ISO setting accordingly so that you get a clear picture no matter how fast the action you're photographing is. Helping ensure a clear shot, ISO speeds of up to 6400 are used. Finally, Nikon's original Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically takes up to 10 shots when the shutter is pressed and saves the best image. With the help of these three features, you'll get a great, clear shot every time you press the shutter button of the Nikon L110.
Face the facts
While they're not the only subject you photograph, people are definitely one of your common subjects, and one of the most difficult to capture correctly. But getting good shots of your friends is essential; if you take a poor pic of your pal, next thing you know, he's untagging himself from the picture when you put it on Facebook. So Nikon wants to help you get good people pictures. Their COOLPIX L110 camera is equipped with what they call their Smart Portrait System to help you get top-quality photos of human subjects. For starters, a Smart Portrait Mode ensures that you always capture the picture while the subject is smiling. A Blink Warning lets you know when the person you're photographing might have blinked so you can re-take the picture. In-Camera Red-Eye fix automatically removes red-eye from your friends so you don't have to go back and edit it out on the computer later. Finally, Face-Priority AF finds up to 12 faces in your picture and adjust the focus so that those faces come out looking as great as they do in real life. So now, instead of untagging himself, your friend might just decide to use the photo you snapped of him as his profile picture.
Get the shot
Sometimes getting the right picture is tough. Whether trying to get a group photo where no one is blinking, or trying to get an action shot of the moment the bat hits the ball, snapping a picture at exactly the right instant is next to impossible. Well, getting that shot used to be next to impossible anyway. That's all changed with the Nikon COOLPIX L110, though. You see, this camera can shoot up to 11.1 photos per second in its continuous mode, shooting up to 20 frames total, so you're sure to get just the shot you were looking for.
Aaand . . . action!
Most digital cameras today have a movie mode. But most of those movie modes shoot dreadfully low-quality film that leaves you wondering what exactly you just saw. Unlike those underpowered cameras, this Nikon features HD video recording with sound. Using its movie mode, you can capture video at a great 720p HD resolution for up to 29 minutes. Then, you can play your masterpiece back on your HDTV using the mini-HDMI output port.
The bottom line
There are plenty of great things about the L110 besides the things we've already mentioned. For example, D-Lighting improves brightness and detail in dark or backlit images. A Scene Auto Selector analyzes your shot, determines the right scene mode, and snaps your shot, all in the blink of an eye. There are 15 different scene modes in total, so it's almost guaranteed that they'll have presets to make your photo perfect. Of course, there are auto modes that make snapping great shots even easier. Cool color effects let you get creative with your photos. But perhaps the thing you'll love most about this COOLPIX is its sweet price. We challenge you to try to find a camera this good at a price this great.

Its a good cheap camera. The only thing about it I think is weak is that the viseo mode pans in and out slowly.

This is my second Nicon camera purchase from Vanns. The !st Coolpix L 14 still works as good as new, so based on my pleasure with that camera and my continued happyness with Vanns I decided to get the L 110 as it has a quality glass lens and 15x zoom. There are features I still have to try, but it is easy to use and just a little bigger than Im used to, I cant wait to try the video 720 p As always Vanns helped me with all my questions and problems with all the time they took. I have always highly recomened Vanns for price, free shipping and quality electronics.

I was looking for a camera that wasnt a low grade point n shoot camera and not an expensive DLSR camera, and I found the Nikon L110 RED. I got the red, because it looked cooler. This camera, once I figured out how to use it, is a great camera. It took a bit to figure out, 1 day, but this camera takes remarkable pictures. I recommend trying all the different settings to get a feel of how the camera can shoot. The video is okay, but it is a camera, and that is what it is going to be used for primarily. There really isnt any cons I would say about this product, except because it is a little bigger than a point n shoot camera, its hard to convince my wife to keep it in her purse. Enjoy.
