Not just surround sound . . . HD audio
Sure, we're all used to associating the term "high definition" with video from sources like Blu-ray Disc. But what you might not know is that the real advantage to Blu-ray technology is the ability to encode your favorite movies' soundtracks in full 7.1-channel, studio-master-quality audio. With its powerful combination of a 7.1-channel, 1200W speaker system, advanced HD audio decoding technologies, and 7.1-channel audio input, Onkyo's HT-S7300 home theater system allows you to discover the HD audio experience. First off, the 7.1-channel audio inputs are ideal for transmitting multi-channel audio from your Blu-ray player to the HT-S7300's receiver. Once there, the HD audio signal needs to be processed into a multi-channel format . . . enter Dolby and dts processing decoding. Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio handle the 7.1-channel audio, while Dolby's Pro Logic IIz adds two height channels for a more complete audio experience. Finally, a 7.1-channel speaker constellation with powered subwoofer and tall-boy front-channel speakers reproduces surround sound effects and dialogue with nuance and vivid dimensionality. It isn't just surround sound, it's HD audio from Onkyo.
The new HDMI for the new dimension in home theater
Certainly, one of the most significant lynchpins of the high definition home theater has been the HDMI interface. High Definition Multimedia Interface connectivity and cables have allowed both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality surround sound to be transmitted along a single cable, ensuring optimal audio and video signal fidelity and dramatically simplifying home theater setup. Well, there's a new dimension in the world of HD home theater . . . 3D. As you go about assembling your new 3D-capable home theater — 3D HDTV, 3D Blu-ray player, 3D Blu-ray movies &mdash there's not doubt that you're going to want to tie the whole thing together using the advanced data-transmission and utter simplicity of HDMI. Accordingly, a new, expanded, future-ready version of HDMI has been developed: HDMI Version 1.4. Sporting this latest HDMI standard, Onkyo's HT-S7300 receiver not only allows for full pass-through of high definition 3D video from your 3D Blu-ray player to your 3D HDTV, but it even supports HDMI v1.4's new Audio Return Channel. When you connect an A/V device like a friend's gaming console directly to your HDTV, you can send the console's audio signal back to the AVR-591 using the same HDMI v1.4 cable that carries video to the TV. Accordingly, you can experience your video game's audio track on your multi-channel audio system without the need for any additional cabling. With four HDMI v.1.4 inputs and one HDMI Audio Return Channel, this advanced A/V receiver from Onkyo is ready to integrate your entire home theater into a blissful 3D whole.
Branch out a bit with iPod readiness
Hold on just a second. Something just doesn't seem quite right. Thanks to your iPod, you have an enormous, diverse world of music at your disposal . . . but you either have to be in your car or listening to headphones to enjoy it. Well, until now, that is. First off, thanks to its included UP-A1 iPod dock, the HT-S7300 lets you connect your iPod to the multi-channel audio system for instant enjoyment of all your favorite playlists.
A well-tailored fit
Every home theater area is different. Different furniture, different arrangement, different flooring, different dimensions. Accordingly, if one were to place the same audio system in multiple different rooms, dramatically different listening experiences would result. And some would certainly be less desirable than others. Ensuring that you experience nothing less than optimal home theater audio tailored to the unique characteristics of your listening area, Onkyo has outfitted the HT-S7300 with Audyssey 2EQ room-equalization technology. Once your audio system is all hooked up, this technology uses an included microphone to measure the system's initial performance, ultimately adjusting such factors as frequency response and time domain issues to optimize your system's performance to your listening area.
7 or 5+2 . . . Zone 2 output
By no means are you limited to directing the HT-S7300's seven channels of output to your home theater area. Thanks to powered Zone 2 output, you have the option of configuring a 5.1-channel system in the living room while also routing two powered channels to a second room for an expanded home audio experience. Imagine listening to your favorite tunes as you cook in the kitchen, relax in the back yard, or tinker in the garage.
Your HD lifeline
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passes along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater's high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It's only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann's sales representatives are here to explain all of your options. I purchased this as a Christmas Present to ourselves and man is this system AWESOME!! The surround sound is incredibile. Even my wife loves it and that says a lot! In my opinion,it was well worth the money. The best thing about buying from Vanns is when you call them for something,Ive always gotten someone who knew what they were talking about!!.Try doing that at some of the super centers and see what you get!!

I couldnt be more happy with this purchase. The HTS7300 has all the features I needed and then some, for a very reasonable price on clearance. The sound quality is much better than other HTIB systems I have heard. I did need some assistance from Onkyo customer service to get the pass thru to work but they had me up and running in less than two minutes. This was my first purchase from Vanns and I am confident I will purchase from them again.

I had been doing research for my first home theater system and came across Vanns on the internet. I talked to salespeople and did some research on my own and did comparative shopping at Best Buy in person. Came back home and ordered my first system from Vanns. Not only were the salespeople very knowledgeable, they did not try to oversell me and were not pushy. After determining what I was trying to achieve they steered me to the Onkyo HTS 7300 system. Purchased it, received it when promised and set it up right away with ease. Even with the included small gauge speaker wire it sounded fantastic. Connected my own HD FM tuner, an old Sony CD player and a Panasonic 42 HD Plasma TV with standard video cables and the sound was unbeliveable. When I learned the basics of operating the system with the remote I called back 2 days later and upgraded to two HDMI cables for the TV and a Panasonic Blue Ray player, 200 feet of 16 gauge speaker wire and a new Yamaha CD player and two optical cables for digital sound from the CD player and the HD FM tuner I already had. The Onkyo receiver does include an amfm stereo tuner but my own HD FM tuner is a noticeable upgrade in sound quality and living near Chicago, the HD stations broadcasting are numerous.
When I received the HDMI cables, the optical cables and the new CD and Blue Ray and had it connected I sat in the center of all the speakers and the sound was even a much more improved listening experience. It was like going from black and white TV to color, Am to FM the first time and mono to stereo all at once only 10 times better as far as sound and image. I havent connected the upgraded speaker wire yet and I expect the sound difference will be even more improved. Salespeople Harlene and Josh were very helpful and as a result of talking to them I saved alot of money and I know I got the most for my money. Ihave already told my friends about Vanns and I know I will be buying more from them in the future. Couldnt be happier or more satisfied. I dont ever remember writing letters or emailing back with responses about anything but this system sounds so good I had to respond. Ease of set up and out of the box standard features were amazing. Highly reccomend ordering 16 gauge speaker cable and HDMI cable right away if you can afford it. If not upgrade later. Thanks Ralph M

Clearance product. Box was a bit worn and damaged, but contents were perfect. Shipping was fast. Setup was easy and the sound is great. Makes a great addition to the Man Cave. The Ipod dock makes it unnecessary for a CD player. This unit has a special speaker setup microphone which calibrates all the speakers for best performance.

The Onkyo Home Theater System was purchased for two main reasons it included a receiver which was needed and had two tall boy speakers. Overall, the sound is terrific and Im well pleased with my purchase. The only criticism pertains to the speaker wires provided. They are color coded which is a plus but several are too short and the quality isnt the best. I replaced them with 16 gauge speaker wires and as stated, the sound is great.

I bought this system sight-unseen and sound-unheard -- based on online reviews of Onkyo products. I was blown away when I received the shipping container and realized what an amazing system I had purchased. This is a tremendous value, and the sound is amazing. I am a neophyte when it comes to setting up technology, but it seems to me that getting this connected and integrated into our entertainment system proceeded without major difficulties. The manuals were clear and concise, and the color codings on the receiver make it connect-the-dots easy. I am totally satisfied with this purchase.

Reviewing many different all in home theater systems I decided on the S7300 Onkyo. This system was rated number one at consumer reports and other rating sites. I could not have been more disappointed in this system from the very beginning. The system was easy to put together but would not work with any of my HDMI inputs. After talking with the product support team at Onkyo their suggestion was it must be broken we can not help you any more. Please send it back to the dealer. From the date of order to sending it back I have been with out a home theater system for a month.

I was looking for a receiver for my 3D and came across this new 3D ready HTIB from Onkyo. I was little nervous regarding this one as it is a brand new product and not many reviews on net.
got it within few days of order. I set it up and tried... Awesome.. True to Onkyos reputation, this product is rock solid. very good sound quality and perfect 3D compatibility.
I am still playing with it and trying to configure other gadgets i have with it but so far things are looking very good.
