Focus on what matters
Portability leads to convenience. Everything associated with us these days is all about easy to use: simple to understand buttons, easy charging, plenty of listening options. Small size, great design. These are the words you’re looking for. But what about great sound quality? When did that get lost in the mix? The TX140 has all these things, but Yamaha’s main focus has always been on incredible sound quality. The 30W digital amplifier gives you incredible sound, while technology taken from their digital sound projectors expands the sound field so that it blankets more of your room with incredible audio. The precisely designed cabinet prevents ear-grinding resonance, while a compressed music enhancer takes your digitally compressed files and restores lost frequencies.
Options
More than just an iPod dock, the TX140 also includes a CD player capable of playing burned discs alongside store-bought ones. For the more traditional-minded, an AM/FM radio lets you ride the airwaves. A 3.5mm auxiliary input and a front USB port give you even more possibilities. How you listen is up to you.
Morning people
Do you wake up at the crack of dawn every day, eager and ready to embrace the new challenges of the next 16-18 hours? Neither do we. For the rest of us, Yamaha has included their IntelliAlarm system that helps to gently wake you up from your hibernation. By slowly ramping up the power and frequency of the alarm over three minutes, the TSX-140 allows you to wake up more naturally. While the alarm process is gentle, don’t think it doesn’t have some bite. If you don’t find yourself awake after three minutes, it transitions to a more traditional beeping alarm, hastening you to full alertness (or at least to hit the snooze button).

WOW! I just received the Yamaha TSX-140 yesterday, which I purchased for my wife. She had some annoying iPod dock that was making me crazy. I couldn't find any of these units set up to audition, so I was hesitant at first to buy it. However, I have a Yamaha receiver that I purchased from Vanns a couple of years ago that I am very happy with, so with Vanns return policy and Yamahas great electronics, I figured I had nothing to lose and bought this. This thing ROCKS! I love it. We have had it going all day and it sounds so good. It looks good too. If you are thinking about an iPod dock, I would highly recommend this unit. You will not be disappointed. It gets great FM reception with the wire antenna, and CDs sound great too. The remote is straightforward and about the size of a playing card. It has five presets for FM radio. There is nothing I can think of that I dont like about it. Sounds great, looks great. Price is a bit high, but I have never regretted buying something that was high quality. I'm looking forward to years of good listening. Just want to add a word about Vanns service. It is awesome. This is about the fifth or sixth purchase I have made from Vanns, and I cannot think of one negative thing to say about them. World class customer service, and they always deliver exactly what they promise. They are always the first place I look when I purchase any electronics.
