A century of audio excellence
Denon is celebrating 100 years of audio excellence by releasing their 100th anniversary series of audio products. Since they produced their first audio component in 1910, Denon has strived to create high quality, beautifully designed consumer and professional audio equipment. By seeking out and hiring engineers who have a passion for music, or are musicians themselves, Denon ensures that those designing their products have only one goal in mind: creating audio equipment that creates or reproduces sound as it should be heard. With their limited edition anniversary line of products, they are re-releasing and re-imagining some of their favorite designs and products, keeping what has made them classics, and updating them so that they fit in with the demands of today’s home audio connoisseur.
Balance of power
Your stereo system needs power, but not just any power. You want to make sure that the power you get is going to give you the sound you need — dynamic highs and rich lows — while at the same time interpreting exactly what your audio components are feeding it. Denon’s PMAA100 uses two high current dynamic power circuits arranged with a UHC-MOS single push-pull circuit to make sure that sound is reproduced exactly as it’s meant to be heard. Denon’s circuit design makes sure that output and input voltage are regulated to exactly where they need to be, quickly, making sure that the sound is immediate and expressive.
Stable sound
Not all power is good, that’s why the PMAA100 uses a large-capacity block condenser to provide even, clean power throughout the system. Two parallel transformers, specially floated and insulated with their Leakage Canceling (LC) mount-in system, make sure that any excess power or flux is dissipated as to not produce excess noise. All this adds up to smooth operating power, letting the Denon PMAA100 produce great sound with nearly no distortion. Now that's sound audio engineering.
Sound stability
The only thing you want shaking your house when you’re listening to music are your speakers — not your amplifier. Denon has re-designed and re-positioned several major components that can lead to vibration and resonance within the PMAA100 in order to improve performance and sound quality. The power transformer and radiator (two of the biggest culprits of vibration) have been separated, and both are heavily insulated with vibration-resistant material. The radiator has also been moved closer to the feet to lower its center of gravity, and fins of different thickness have been used to eliminate resonance effects. The chassis itself has been made smaller in order to improve resistance to vibration, and the feet guides have been moved close together in order to be able to re-direct vibration to them more quickly. Plus, the feet themselves are made of resistant cast-iron, showing that every part of the PMAA100 has been chosen with sound quality in mind.
More than just function
The high quality design isn’t limited to sound. A special high gloss black finish makes sure this is a piece you’ll want to showcase in your home audio system. The unit also has a low standby power, consuming only 0.3W of power so that it stands ready for use, but makes a minimal impact on the environment (and your electric bill). A 5-year warranty means you can be sure that the PMAA100 will be with you for a long time. This beautiful piece of equipment will be the envy of your home audio system.
Super audio
With almost 44x the sampling rate of a CD, and a 25% higher dynamic range, the Super Audio CDs are one of the best ways to enjoy audio. Denon knows you love great music, so the PMAA100 was built so that it could handle the larger range of sounds produced by SACDs, making the PMAA100 amplifier a perfect choice to be used with the Denon 100th anniversary series DCDA100 CD/SACD player.
Your place in history
Denon has had a long history, and your 100th anniversary amplifier is part of that. Because of the precise care given to each of the limited edition pieces they make, a certificate of authentication signed by the chief production engineer who hand crafted your player is included with the Denon PMAA100. A special anniversary logo badge adorns the cabinet, letting everyone know how far great sound has come.
