I am a professional musician, I hadn't planned on actually listening to my LPs when I purchased this turntable, I only wanted a quality turntable to allow me to transfer my old LPs to disc. I still cannot believe my ears when playing my 20 year old LPs on this turntable. For small group jazz, the sound is better than the CDs I have of the same material. I have never belived that LPs could ever sound better than a CD, now I do, although when it comes to orchestral music, I still think CDs still sound better due to lack of compression. My music studio has 10 speakers, 2 amps and all kinds of effects processors to make digital music come alive. I never would have believed a turntable and 2 speakers could produce nearly the same effect. Sure, there are pops and hisses on occasion, but the warmth and size of the sound stage is well worth it. This turntable tracks perfectly and is easy to balance the tonearm. Highly recommended.

Elegant design, easy to set up, brilliant sound. A quality turntable by a quality company. Fully automatic means not having to worry about the platter continuously spinning and the needle being damaged at the end of record. At the higher end of budget turntables but worth every penny. Thank you Vanns!

The Denon DP300F offers very good performance for the price. The automatic operation is smooth, quiet, and dependable. I am using this turntable to convert a large collection of vinyl LP records to MP3 files. Although there is no strobe light to monitor turntable rotational speed, I know from my recording software track timing that the actual speed is very accurate. I was initally concerned about the absence of a dedicated ground wire, but have had no electrical hum problems. Using the same electrical circuit for both my computer and turntable may have helped me avoid AC hum. My only complaint about the DP300F design is the difficulty I had in accurately calibrating the tone arm tracking weight. This is because the calibration ring and the counterweight are adjacent to each other but not connected, so one can be accidently rotated independent of the other. However, they must be rotated together to accurately set the tracking force. I advise the purchase of a separate gauge to measure tracking force.
