I had an Elite VSX 97 and bought this one because of its new revolutionary signal processing. I could tell the difference from the moment I turned it on. The purity of sound and the superior speech qualities were immediately apparent. The improved user interface,the networking capability and the more rational layout of the inputs in the back were also welcome. Unfortunately the unit firmware failed after a week and required changing the motherboard. Vanns stood behind their sale and offered to substitute the unit with a brand new one, as per their policy. I chose to repair the unit at a local repair shop who came to pick it up at my home. They worked with me and Pioneer to get the part which was temporarily out of stock. Pioneer kept me abreast of their progress in finding and shipping the new motherboard and managed to get it to European Tech Shop in Torrance, CA in two weeks time, way ahead of the waitiing queue. Great support from everybody and a testament to the well deserved popularity of this top of the line model.
