The brains behind the beauty

How do you make an impossibly compact dynamic driver without giving up sound quality? Well, if Definitive Technology divulged that information, everybody would be doing it. You'll have to trust us, the XTR-60 technology takes decades of engineering design to the limit. With pressure-coupled drivers and aluminum dome bass radiators in the mid-range and a center-mounted hyper-definition pure aluminum dome tweeter, the XTR-60 driver packs a dynamic punch, producing a wide frequency range, broad dispersion, and a deeply extended bass response unheard outside of Goliath-sized speakers.

Definitive Technology will gladly take the blame

Blame the aircraft-grade aluminum cabinet with its stiffing ribs and channels. Blame the ultra-rigid, resonance-free aluminum extrusion. You can even blame the rare-earth magnet and the thermally conductive gasket seals—but, whatever you do, don't blame your guests for not wanting to go home once they get within earshot of the XTR-60.
