Got high resolution? Get Panasonic SDHC cards
High resolution video and images demand substantial storage capacities. Remember when you could shoot digital still images all day long with a single 512MB memory card? Not today friends. Today you need more storage. A lot more storage. Panasonic's RPSDM04GU1K 4GB SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) flash memory card provides the ultimate flexibility and storage expansion for the latest SDHC compatible digital devices like digital cameras and camcorders, computers, MP3 players, cell phones, PDAs, GPS units, and digital picture frames. Panasonic SDHC cards are a new design based on SD Specification v2.0 for 4GB and higher capacities and a have readout data transfer rate of up to 10MB/second (Class 4). You also get high level CPRM (Content Copy Protection for Recordable Media) copy protection to assure data cannot be copied unless permitted by the content owner. And so you don't loose that once-in-a-lifetime image or video sequence, there's a write protection switch to avoid accidental deletions.
This FAT won't raise your cholesterol
Higher capacity SD cards are a result of upgrading the File Allocation Table (FAT), a data storage protocol developed by Microsoft that tracks and locates files in memory, from FAT12/16 to FAT32, which uses more bits to identify each cluster on the the card. This makes locating files easier and allows for smaller clusters, improving the efficiency. Even if a file gets fragmented (split up into various areas in memory), the file allocation table can still track it.
Still got that pen from your last space shuttle mission?
Have you ever tried to write (as in hand write) on an SD card? First of all, there's not much room since the things are the size of a postage stamp; and second, unless you have one of the zero gravity pens with special ink like they use on the space shuttle, none of the pens or pencils you own will work on the slick paper used for the card label. Panasonic realized it might be nice to be able to write a little something on the card label, so they provide a memo strip that will actually work with most normal writing instruments. Thanks Panasonic.
