The good excellent range, and good fidelity for watching tv. Just make sure to up the volume to as high as possible in the tv.
The bad when the audio goes low, like when I watch slow-movies with prolonged silence, sometimes drops the connection.
The ugly Every time I start using the phones, I had to power cycle it. Or, pull the power cord and plug it back in. This is ridiculous. But not a big deal as I have put it in its own surge protector and turn it on-and-off.

These are great. I had some problems getting them to work after waiting 24 hours for them to charge. Sony directions are not that clear. I almost was going to send them back because I thought they didnt work. I thought they would be compatable with my Sony HD TV and Sony Home entertainment center. But but I had to go threw my Toshiba DVD recorder that I also got in the same purchase from Vanns. Good thing I have a IQ higher than Foest Gump his is 80- Mine is 81 LOL All is well ! Thanks Vanns

The headphones allow me mobility while watching television or simply listening to music to the radio. This also helps me not to disturb the rest of the family. The sound quality does not match a wired headset, but the convenience compensates for the sound quality. Very easy to use. As long as I am in the same room as the receiver, the sound quality is very good. They are very comfortable headsets. I almost bought a much more expensive set, but I think these were a much better value.

I have a hearing loss that often makes hearing conversations on the TV almost impossible without turning the volume way up. With the Headphones I can now hear the conversations without turning up the volume on the TV. For that reason, I think my wife loves the headphones more than I do. She now will ask me, What did they say? and I can tell her. The headphones are comfortable, easy to use and allow me to hear and converse with others in the room without removing them.

I pruchased these wireless heaphones so I could watch TV and Movies late at night without disturbing anyone. I wanted a wireless headphone because my equipment is in a closet. For a Sony product, of which I have many, I was disapointed in the sound quality. There are pops along with hissing and terrible bass response. I tried all of the troubleshooting tips with no improvement. The sound quality was poor standing next to the transmitter, horrendous at 25 ft, and gone 40 ft away. I live in the country with no neighbors for miles and nothing in my house on this frequency. Im returning these and going with a wired set with a 25 ft cord extension. Not what I wanted but sound from wireless set is to terrible to live with for the money spent.

I live with an elderly parent that is both blind and hard of hearing. With the Sony headphones she is able to listen to the television throughout the day and I am able to go about my routine without having to listen to a loud television all day.
The headphones are comfortable that she is able to listen from 9 in the morning to 10 at night without discomfort.
The fact the headset goes off automatically when removed is a great feature that conserves the battery. As it is the charge lasts all day which was not the case with some other headphones we had tried.
Another nice feature is the ease of parking the headset on the stand without having to align contacts to recharge the battery.
The sound quality is great at an affordable price. We are very pleased the headset and would highly recommend them to anyone.

My mother is 89 with quite a great hearing loss. I wanted to buy her some new wireless headphones. I did an exhausting amount of research, which included reviews like this. Siemens, the brand she bought, was good and well reviewed but the headphones were falling apart and the sound wasnt strong or clear enough. To move up to the next model was going to be a financial strain. I was all over the Internet and online stores. There were a few final contestants but I finally decided to try the Sony MDR-RF970RK,even though the Sonys my mother purchased as her first wireless headset were sooooo very difficult to connect and recharge. The Sony MDR-RF970RK seemed to be very good choice as well as a very reasonable price. They are excellent! They have made a huuuuge difference in my mothers life. The sound is so clear that I myself can hear all kinds of of subtle sounds I couldnt hear from the TV or our Siemens wireless headset. And they couldnt be easier to set into the recharge base. The deeper earpads really help keep out extraneous noise. I had never heard of Vanns before living in Southern California, but my online order was very easy and the headset arrived very quickly. So kudos to them as well as Sony. I am more than happy to give this review and let others know what a good purchase this would be.

The audio is quite good, but the headphones cycle off every 10 minutes and you have to raise and lower the volumn to send a new signal to the transmitter to reactivate. This is very annoying. The headphones are comfortable to wear but are a little on the heavy side.

Well designed head phone overall. Virtually no background noise. Hi-fi sound qualify is average. Demanding hi-fi listeners may want something better. The head phone secures at the base unit very well so it does not accidentally fall off. Recharging does not require metal to metal contact and is efficient generates minimal heat though slow. When fully recharged, the head phone last many hours . It turns on automatically when on the head and turns off when not. The head phone is very comfortable on the head even for extended hours .
