Three reasons to try 3D
First, two pairs of glasses. Second, a free sample Blu-ray disc with 3D features. Third, a voucher for a free copy of Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon in 3D. Your TV has the technology. Make the most of it. Samsung's active shutter 3D glasses communicate wirelessly with the 3D emitter built into all 3D-capable Samsung HDTVs. All you have to do is don a pair of these groovy shades, find a comfy spot on your couch, press PLAY, and brace yourself for a truly immersive home theater experience. And you can start your 3D library with the included triple feature (Galapagos, Into the Deep, Mummies). Then send in your voucher for a free copy of 2010's 3D hit How to Train Your Dragon. Your 3D experience awaits.
Let 3D go to your head
Okay, so you've got the new 3D HDTV, and the 3D Blu-ray Disc player, and a new 3D Blu-ray movie. So, you're ready to plop down on the couch and enjoy some three-dimensional viewing right in the comfort of your own living room, right? Well, almost. While 3D-capable HDTVs, Blu-ray players, and Blu-ray movies are all necessary for bringing the 3D experience home, there's still one more piece to the puzzle — 3D glasses. You see, in order to create a three-dimensional visual effect, 3D HDTVs must work in concert with a pair of active shutter glasses (details on how all this works below). Because the SSG-2100AB 3D Active Shutter glasses communicate wirelessly with the 3D emitter built into all 3D-capable Samsung HDTVs, all you have to do is don a pair of these groovy shades, nestle into a comfy spot, press PLAY, and brace yourself for a truly immersive home theater experience. (Note: the SSG-2100AB glasses are sized for use by adults and require separate batteries for use.)

The glasses work okay, except my wife took awhile adjusting hers. As it is, I have to wair mine over my regular glasses, which is okay, if you are worried. I would recommend getting at least 2 more pair, we are. The so called movie was dull, but we did get our How to train your dragen in 3d, in a timely manner.

This is new packaging for the Samsung Starter Kit. It comes with the same battery operated glasses as the previous kit. The only difference is that it comes with an IMAX showcase. Which I feel does the 3D a bit more justice than Monsters vs Aliens. It also comes with a voucher for How to Train your Dragon which again I think is a better movie than MvA. The glasses are still battery powered, the kit is still over priced, and the glasses are not as nice as the Panasonic glasses. But, they do the job and until third party glasses are released like Xpand 103 we do not have a choice. Atleast the new starter kit comes with a much better selection of movies now!
