Just narrow enough |
One advantage the LFC20760SW has over most french door refrigerators is that it is more narrow. This allows you a greater freedom in placement, because it will fit in more places. Where will you put yours? |
Convenience! Now in white! |
If you are looking for convenience and quality in a refrigeration unit, then look no further. This dynamic over/under model provides 19.7 cu ft of storage, a from-the-factory, built-in ice maker for "cubes on-demand", and conveniently-controlled temperature sensors automatically keep temperatures consistent in the fridge and freezer to keep food at its freshest. If you need the space inside the refrigerator, but have limited space to place the unit in, the French doors and easy bottom-mounted, slide-out freezer features are exactly what you have been looking for. Buy lettuce at the farmer's market on Saturday, and it will still be fresh on Friday with two crisper drawers designed to maintain freshness in fruits and veggies. And a dairy bin makes your fat-free yogurt easy to locate, even in the wee hours of the night! How much more do you really need? |
What's wrong with being shelf-ish? |
Let's discuss how this refrigerator/freezer combo can make life easier for you and your family, as well as do an exemplary job preserving your valuable food products. To begin with, this model has the room you require to preserve your consumables. 19.7 cu ft capacity holds all your day-to-day needs plus extras for special occasions. Four split, spill-resistant glass shelves stop small spills from becoming big messes with a raised rim that's sealed so spills won't drip all over your food, and two crisper drawers keep fruits and veggies field-fresh. So, with the LFC20760SW, maybe it is OK to be a bit shelf-ish. |
What's the big deal about ENERGY STAR? |
The LFC20740SW is 2008 ENERGY STAR compliant, which sounds great. What does it mean, though? In a nutshell, ENERGY STAR is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. For the family or homeowner, energy efficient choices can save about a third on the energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort. ENERGY STAR helps you make the energy efficient choice. When a product boasts ENERGY STAR compliance, that means the product meets stringent government standards for conserving both energy and the environment. This appliance meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and US Department of Energy. So whether you are concerned for the environment, your pocket book, or both, this appliance helps ensure both are given an easier load to bear. |
They're not worth the pain! |
The LG LFC20760SW is a French door, bottom-mount. So what? What difference does it make where the freezer is, or how the door opens? A big difference! To start, why is a bottom-mounted freezer better than a top-mount, or a side-by-side? Basically, the answer is that it keeps the food you use most right at eye-level. You don't have to get on your hands and knees to look for that last slice of pizza. But why the slide-out freezer drawer? The reason most bottom-mounts (including this one) have a slide-out freezer drawer as opposed to a traditional door is that because the freezer is on the bottom, it could be inconvenient and painful to look for that package of frozen hamburger if you had to look inside the bottom of the unit. This space-saving design brings the food to you, because it really isn't worth breaking your back for some things, like mixed vegetables, for example. But why French door? Well, there are several reasons here. One, it saves space by cutting the room needed to open the refrigerator in half. But at the same time, it looks really great, and does a slightly better job at keeping the cold air in, since you only need to open half. So, while there are numerous different configurations of refrigerators out there today, the LFC20760SW has one that's quickly growing in popularity, and is the best design for many people. |
Convenience on ice |
The LFC20760SW has an easy-access freezer to help you find your favorite flavor ice cream easier, and make it easy to organize your frozen foods. The pull-out freezer drawer opens and closes smoothly, and brings the food to you, so getting food from the "ice-box" isn't a workout. The factory installed ice maker and included drawer uses IcePlus keeps the cold cubes coming all summer (or winter) long. |
