Why french door?

The design of the Maytage MFI2569VEB was no accident. The french door, slide-out bottom mount design is quite functional, although far from utilitarian. The reasons for choosing a french door design are many. For one thing, the bottom-mount necessity of a french door design keeps the food you use most right at eye level. The problem with this was that accessing the freezer practically required getting on your hands and knees, and quite frankly, frozen peas just aren't worth that. So, the freezer is a glide-out drawer which makes use of the SmoothClose door system to provide you easy access to all of your chilled foods. However, none of that explains why the french door design iself is better than other configurations. French door allows you to open only one side of the fridge, so it halves the door swing depth for easier travel in the kitchen and more placement options. Plus, opening only half of the fridge lets out much less cold air, so your food stays at a more stable temperature, and thus in better condition, and you conserve energy required to cool the air. With the french door design, everybody wins.

Pretty as it is purposeful

The usability, reliability, and performance of a refrigerator are nothing to take lightly. But on the other hand, this is going to be an appliance you'll probably see nearly ever day. It's important for your choice to be one you don't find appaling. So on the MFI2569VEB, emphasis was placed on aesthetics as well as performance. Finally, for beverage storage, there is both a vertical can rack and a Beverage Chiller compartment for ice-cold sodas. With this many storage options, finding a place for just about any type of food container should be no problem. And with just shy of 25 cubic feet of space, there's no excuse of not being able to fit something in the fridge, even on Thanksgiving.

Stepping up the performance

All the aesthetic and shelving features wouldn't mean much without some serious appliance performance, though. Not to worry. The MFI2569 makes excellent use of an electronic QuadCool system to keep your food as fresh as the day it left the supermarket. It can be controlled from the exterior (on the dispenser) so you don't even have to open the door, and there is a lockout to make sure no one messes with the settings. A PuriClean II water filter ensures that your water and ice are just as safe. The BrightSeries lighting system will make sure you're not in the dark as to what's you have in storage. The included automatic moisture control keeps your food fresher by ensuring that the air has exactly the right amount of moisture content. Accelerated cooling mode gets your food chilled quickly if, for example, you forget to put the wine in the fridge at the right time. There is also a Sabbath Mode to comply with religious restrictions. An alarm system alerts you if the door doesn't quite get shut all the way, or if there is a problem with the temperature. The Ice₂0 system can make up to 8 pounds of ice in 24 hours (for those really, really, really hot days). Finally, the MFI2569VEB accomplishes all this while still maintaining current ENERGY STAR certified. Amazing.
