Now that the stylish look of the Professional Series® PLES389EC's smudge-resistant, EasyCare™, genuine stainless steel exterior has caught our eye, let's take an inside-out, top-to-bottom look at this 4.2 cu. ft. electric slide-in smoothtop range from the folks at Frigidaire. Not only are the oven and warming drawer's faces and handles constructed of genuine stainless steel, but so is the range's control panel, featuring EasySet™ 510 electronic oven controls and Precision Set™ surface-element controls. For added safety when using the range's surface elements, four-position Hot-Surface indicator lights light up to tell you when a burner is still hot, helping to avoid accidental burns. Now, what's special about the PLES389EC's burners . . . ?

Four burners become eight with QuadMaxx™

Versatility is one of your most potent tools in the kitchen. When it comes to burner size, versatility is key to both getting the performance you seek from your pots and pans and to protecting those same pots and pans. Mismatching pan size and burner size can result in uneven heating of your pans that can both affect the preparation of your foods and potentially result in warping of or damage to your pans. Also, in the case that a smaller pan is used on a larger burner, the exposed portion of the hot cooking surface presents a danger of burning oneself and also can create unpleasant messes if spills occur. The PLES389EC's QuadMaxx burners offer you optimal rangetop versatility. Each of the four burners is really two-in-one. The two rear burners can be set to 5" or 7" cooking diameters, while the two front burners can be expanded from a 6" to a 9" diameter. Achieve optimal performance from all your pots and pans, every time you venture into the kitchen.

Any last words, Uneven Cooking or Heating? How about from you, Long Cooking Time? Thanks to the EvenCook3™ Element Convection System offered by your PLES389EC, the days of uneven cooking or ridiculously long cooking times are over. Convection ovens differ from more traditional ovens because they circulate the heated air in the oven around your dishes. This constant movement of warm air results not only in more even cooking or heating, but also warms food faster by preventing the formation of an insulating layer of cooler air around foods. Even better, the circulation of warm air allows foods to be cooked at lower-than-traditional temperatures. Finally, because convection baking is based on the circulation of air, you can achieve optimal results with dishes or pans on multiple rack levels at once. With its European convection design featuring an assist element surrounding the fan, the PLES389EC may not do the cooking for you, but it'll have you cooking better and with more ease in the flash of a pan. (As a bonus, the PLES389EC features an Convection Convert button that automaticallly converts standard element-baking temperatures to convection-baking temperatures, eliminating any guesswork.)

What can you do with 550°?

Whether you're toasting bruschetta, brownging a baked-pasta dish or searing a tender cut of beef, the more control you have over your oven's broiler, the more spectacular your final product will be. Frigidaire's Vari-Broil™ temperature control lets you easily and accurately select your desired broiling temperature, from between 400°F and 550°F.

Let's start at the end: You get better baking, roasting, and browning with all your dishes. How? Your hew PLES389EC's Dual Radiant™ Baking System automatically cycles the top broil element on and off during the baking cycle to assure that each dish receives even heating and cooking for amazing results.

Warming drawer

One of the most difficult elements of cooking to master is coordination — that is, making sure that everything is ready at the same time. Helping to smooth out the learning curve is the PLES389EC's 1.6 cu. ft. Warm & Serve warming drawer. Located just below the main oven compartment, this pull-out warming drawer is ideal for keeping hot foods — from side dishes to dinner plates to breads and pies — warm until they are ready to be served. Bon apetit!

Clean up? . . . Ha!

Let's admit it. From a cook's perspective, the fun part is making a mess in the kitchen, not cleaning it up. Good thing your new PLES389EC range comes designed with a variety of clean-up-made-easy features. First, the oven's bottom baking element is hidden beneath a porcelain plate, meaning that spills land on the smooth bottom and don't burn directly onto the element for easy clean up. Second, the PLES389EC's self-cleaning system features two different cycles, making it easy to match the cleaning cycle to the size of the mess. Self-cleaning cycles generate extremely high temperatures to effectively convert any burnt on material within the oven compartment into an ash that can be easily wiped out of the bottom of the oven. The Speed Clean cycle is designed for use with light soil levels, and is 33% faster than standard self-clean cycles. The MaxxClean™ cycle, on the other hand, delivers 25% more cleaning power, ideal for use with high soil levels.
