So Much More Than Your Average Range

You're tired of standard electric cooktop burner configurations, and you should be. Most standard electric cooktops have your standard four burners -- two of each size. This arrangement would be fantastic if you only had four pots, in two sizes, two pots of each size. But you don't. In fact, this couldn't be further from the truth. You have a wide variety of pot and pans, ranging from large 12" skillets to small 6" sauce pans. Every size you need to create your favorite culinary marvels. KitchenAid is tired of these cooktops, too, and that's why your new KERS807SSS isn't your standard cooktop. Recognizing your need for a more versatile cooktop configuration and for a variety of burner sizes so that pan size and burner size always match, KitchenAid has designed your new range with three dual-size burners. Keep reading to learn just what "dual-size burners" means, and why they set a new standard for cook-top ranges.

Multiply Your Options

The story of "dual-size burners" is a simple tale of "two-in-one." Dual-size burners are, literally, two burners in one. Your new KERS807SSS features three dual-size burners. In order to fit these extra burners onto the rangetop without doubling its size, KitchenAid placed one smaller burner within a larger burner. Viola! Genius! Dual-size burners. So, that's the "What", but what about the "Why"? Why choose dual-size burners? "Choice" is the answer. Choice and care for your cookware. One of the simplest and most important things that you can do to achieve more even heating and cooking as well as to maintain the condition of your cookware is to make sure that pot size and burner size match. Placing pans on burners that are either too large or too small results in uneven heating of the pan that not only might cause uneven cooking but might also damage pans. Placing a pan on a burner that is too large also exposes a very hot surface that could be dangerous to touch and that might cause spills to burn onto the cooktop surface and make a mess. The choice between seven different burners, ranging in size from 10" to 5", lets you match pan and burner every time for even, successful cooking.

Three Words: Con-Vec-Tion

Any last words, Uneven Cooking or Heating? How about from you, Long Cooking Time? Thanks to the Even-Heat True Convection System offered by the KERS807SSS, the days of uneven cooking or ridiculously long cooking times are over. Convection ovens differ from more traditional ovens because they circulate the heated air in the oven around your dishes. This constant movement of warm air results not only in more even cooking and heating, but also warms food faster by preventing the formation of an insulating layer of cooler air around foods. Even better, the circulation of warm air allows foods to be cooked at lower-than-traditional temperatures. Because of the discrepancy between traditional cooking times and temperatures and those of convection cooking, KitchenAid has designed your new KERS807SSS with the EasyConvect Time and Temperature Conversion System. EasyConvect is a selectable electronic oven control that automatically converts conventional times and temperatures into their convection equivalents.

Sure, If You're Really Bored, You Could Clean It By Hand

Your new KERS807SSS fights fire with fire. Spills and messes inside your oven are tough to clean because they get baked right onto the oven's interior. It's the heat of the oven that makes clean-up a hassle. Oddly enough, it's the heat of your KERS807SSS's Self-Clean Cycle that makes clean-up a breeze, too. By generating extremely high temperatures within the oven compartment, the self-clean cycle effectively reduces any burnt-on spills into a powdery ash that can be easily wiped out once the cycle has ended. Listen: there once was a time that the nastiest messes of all resulted from spills directly onto the exposed bake element at the bottom of the oven... but those days are gone. Thanks to the KERS807SSS's CleanBake Hidden Bake Element concealing the lower bake element underneath a panel at the bottom of the oven compartment, spills land on the oven bottom and not the element, making messes less messy and removal of the post-self-clean-cycle ash that much easier.

Get Past The Traditional Downfalls Of Broiling

Let's say that tonight you're preparing a little Italian cuisine. On the stovetop, your puttanesca sauce is just about finished reducing at a moderate simmer and the pasta is nearly al dente. You've just place the bruschetta into the oven on a baking sheet to toast under the broil element, but, because you have to leave the oven door slightly ajar while broiling, its difficult to reach the sauce and pasta over the roaring heat lpouring out of the open oven door. Using the broiler on traditional ranges can be frustrating and inconvenient. Applying its convection cooking mode to broiling, your KERS807SSS's Closed-Door Convection Broil lets you broil to your heart's content, with the door closed all the while. Enjoy bruschetta toasted under the broiler, while keeping the oven door closed and appreciating easy access to your stovetop delights.

Keep Your Bread On The Rise

It's funny, but one of the most ejoyable times of year to bake bread is also the most difficult. The warmth and smell of fresh-baked bread in the winter months is a wonderful thing, but because the house tends to be a little chillier when winter sets in, getting your dough to raise well can be tricky. Your new KERS807SSS's Bread Raising and Keep Warm function allows you to keep the oven at a low temperature, ideal for raising bread on cold days and keeping dishes warm before your meal.
