The SenseClean washing system

Imagine: a home dishwasher that delivers a clean that's customized to the needs of each load and water and energy efficient. Stop dreaming . . . the LG LDS4821 is here. The innovative SenseClean wash system uses an LED light and sensors located inside the dishwasher's tub to measure water turbidity during the first rinse. Then, during the second cycle, water level and wash time are adjusted based on the need for more or less cleaning. In combination with the LDS4821's three spray arms and five water-level directions, the SenseClean wash system brings you a precise clean that saves money and conserves water and energy by minimizing under- or over-washing.

Design-A-Rack organization

No matter where you look in your kitchen, organization is a big concern — think cupboards, the fridge, the freezer, the oven, and especially the dishwasher. The dishwasher? Fitting more dishes into each load you run in your dishwasher has multiple benefits. Not only do you have a better chance of avoiding having to hand wash items that won't fit, but by running fewer loads, you save money on water and energy costs. With the combination of an extra-large 16-place-setting capacity and a Design-A-Rack rack system, the LG LDS4821 offers a versatile organization space and options. The upper rack is manually adjustable, allowing you to raise or lower by 2" the rack to accommodate larger items on either the upper or lower rack. Three detachable cutlery baskets with covers can be separated and placed on either the upper or lower rack for optimal versatility. Finally, because the upper and lower racks are coated with nylon and feature tines with rounded tips, you don't have to worry about damage to delicate dishware.

Hybrid drying means dual drying power

LG's LDS4821 dishwasher combines two drying technologies for advanced dish-drying power. First, offering enhanced drying performance and energy efficiency, a condensation drying system heats dishes with hot water from the final rinse. Moisture then condenses on the LDS4821's cool stainless steel tub and is drained, leaving your dishes clean and dry without the use of an energy-wasting active drying element. Second, a built-in fan circulates air throughout the dishwasher's tub, removing water vapor and aiding condensation on the tub walls.

How low can you go? LoDecibel quiet operation

Using a specially designed combination of sound-damping materials in the tub and door and an extra-quiet Slim Direct Motor, the LG LDS4821's LoDecibel quiet system is able to reduce the sound of the dishwasher in operation to a minimal hum, even when the integrated food disposal is in use!
