Breaking the mold |
For years, dishwasher fronts have looked basically identical across the board, with the most distinguishing feature being the brand logo. Enough's enough says Frigidaire. Their new LEDB400FEE "Elements" dishwasher throws out the white-finish-upper-center-mold that has plagued dishwashers since their inception. This innovative model brings to the table a showstopping, next-gen design comprised of a sleek Metallic Nickel finish. Then, they trashed the old control norm in favor of a stunning, curved, semi-integrated design which uses grey accents to bring a bold, refined air to the dishwasher. Finally, a matching handle suggests that the LEDB400FEE is a down-to-business professional model. All of this comes together seemlessly to provide an escape from the snowy monotony, and bring you instead a refrigerator of striking elegance. |
It's what's on the inside that counts |
A good-looking exterior is great, and is an important consideration when purchasing an appliance you'll see every day, but don't get so carried away with talk about the front panel that you forget the interior. The inside of your dishwasher is equally important as the exterior, in form and even more so in function. Frigidaire didn't forget this when drawing up the plans for the LEDB400FEE. For starters, they gave it a BIG Tub interior, which is their brandmarked way of saying "tall tub." This gives you extra space to ensure there's enough room to wash even your biggest loads of dinner dishes. Making it a tall tub model wasn't the only important innovation included on the LEDB400FEE, though. Since every time you run a load of plates you have to look at the dishwasher's interior, they wanted to make sure it wasn't "dull as dishwasher." So to combat this, they gave it their signature GraniteGrey interior. This beautifully speckled design, though unnoticed whenever the door is closed, is a nice touch whenever you unload or load the dishwasher. This is just another example of a convenient, albeit unnecesary feature of a dishwasher designed just for you. |
What's the big deal about ENERGY STAR? |
The LEDB400FEE is ENERGY STAR compliant, which sounds great. What does it mean, though? In a nutshell, ENERGY STAR is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. For the family or homeowner, energy efficient choices can save about a third on the energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort. ENERGY STAR helps you make the energy efficient choice. When a product boasts ENERGY STAR compliance, that means the product meets stringent government standards for conserving both energy and the environment. This appliance meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and US Department of Energy. So whether you are concerned for the environment, your pocketbook or both, this appliance helps ensure both are given an easier load to bear. |
Rack 'em up |
The LEDB400FEE's racking options put even the biggest pool sharks to shame. Both the upper and lower racks are maximum-width nylon TuffRacks with ball-tipped rack tines for safety. The top shelf has a 2-wire split cup shelf with 4 shelf clips. It's height is adjustable, and the front features a convenient handle for sliding the rack in and out of the dishwasher. This rack also features convertible bowl tines and a versa-tray with knife holder to make room for all your dishes. The bottom rack is no shorter on features. Curved tines provide storage so your dishes receive a better wash. Additionally, a high side-shelf, utility shelf, and 3-piece split silverware rack ensure that all of your odds and ends fit in the washload. So go ahead, rack 'em up. The LEDB400FEE is ready. |
Look out, Lance |
But, this multi-talented dishwasher is also a cycle expert. It features 7 different cycles to meet your washing needs. Let's say you have pots and pans with food dried on them. Run them through the Ultimate Scrub cycle to knock the most stubborn residue off your dishes. Standard dinner dishes? Try the normal cycle for an average clean. If you're having guests over in an hour, and you don't have clean plates, the SpeedClean cycle is just the thing for you. Econo Wash maximizes your efficiency to be friendly towards both mother earth and your pocketbook. A 1/2 load (upper rack) lets you wash those few cups you have left over from cocoa after the kids come home from sledding. For more delicate fare, the China/Crystal cycle protects your daintiest delicates with ease. A rinse only option lets you wash later, but without letting the food dry on to the point of needing the Ultimate Scrub cycle. To cap off the list, there is an NSF certified sanitize rinse, which kills 99.999% of bacteria to keep you safe, and the option to dry with or without heat. With so many choices, it's hard to choose! With all the cycle options on the LEDB400FEE, Mr. Armstrong better watch his back! |
