| The control panel on the MFW9800TQ, with a die-cast metallic control knob, is made for convenience. The controls are simple, so you might be able to get your older kids to start doing there own laundry. If you want to, that is. In that case, you can use the Control Lockout, a child safety door latch and locked controls, to keep little hands from running the washer. | It's great to have a pretty washing machine, but not at the cost of functionality. The beauty of the Maytag MFW9800TQ goes far beyond the white finish, combining with innovative features to form one of the best all-around washing machines on the market today. It starts with a built-in-heater. Thermal optimization gradually heats the water throughout the cycle, and the IntelliTemp Automatic Temperature Control monitors incoming water for the correct temperature. The washer fills only after the optimal temperature has been reached. From there, the Time Release Shower System takes over, evenly distributing laundry detergent on the load by channeling water through the dispenser and spraying detergent from the top as the load is tumbled. As your clothes are washed and rinsed, the variable speed motor prepares to do its job. Operating at a speed up to 1200 RPM, the spin cycle can extract more water from clothes than a conventional model, leaving them nearly dry by the time you put them in the dryer. Of course, the spin speed depends on the cycle as well. Delicate items will be delicately spun.
