It's alive! |
OK, not exactly. But the DCVH680JWW from GE is able to sense things, namely how wet your load of laundry is. It uses a system of moisture sensors to constantly determine the optimum settings for your clothes' drying. This leads to quicker, more efficient drying loads, with even better care. In fact, it's one of the most advanced drying systems on the market. The DCVH680JWW also comes programmed with an amazing sense of time that allows you to delay the start of your load up to 18 hours and ensures that your clothes are run for exactly the right amount of time. If that isn't a smart dryer, what is? |
Size does matter |
In some cases, bigger is better, like with sumo matches, trophy elk racks, or chocolate chip cookies. Size is also an important factor when talking about dryer drum capacities. Having a larger drum can be the difference between running one or two loads of laundry. Luckily, the DCVH680JWW has a 7.0 cubic foot DuraDrum. This massize drum size leads to the ability to dry more clothes at once, which in turn leads to faster drying times, fewer loads of laundry, better energy efficiency, and even the ability to wash specialty items, such as king-size bedding. Or, for more common loads, you can wash up to 16 pairs of jeans in this enormous dryer. With information like that, it's clear that sometimes size DOES matter. |
Too much freedom? No such thing! |
Some people might feel like they've been given too much responsibility or freedom with the DCVH680J. It's true, there are plenty of choices and options on this dryer. But having that many options is to you advantage, far from a punishment. There are 10 different cycles on the dryer, explained below: The sensor cycles are: cottons (good for most cottons and linens), mixed load (for standard loads with a mix of cottons and poly-blends), easy care (for wrinkle-free and permanent press items), active wear (for workout clothes with a few casual garments mixed in), delicates (for your intimate frillies and other soft fabrics), Dryel (for use with Dryel "dry clean only" drying system), and speed dry (when you need those clothes dried fast. The timed dry cycles are: dewrinkle (for getting wrinkles out of damp or dry items), warm up (for that just out of the dryer feel from clothes that were already dry), and air fluff (to tumble clothes without applying heat). You can also used timed dry to set the dryer to run for a set amount of time. Or, if you happen to be somewhat of a control freak, you can use the My Cycle option to create your own preset cycles, being as creative as you want to. The options don't end there, though. With the sensor cycles, you can choose whether you want your clothes more dry, dry, less dry, or just damp. You can also choose between 6 different drying temperatures. You can also adjust the end-of-cycle signal, add a damp dry signal, delay the start up to 18 hours, use a drying rack, or even reverse the door swing direction (which defaults to swinging to the right). Sure, there are plenty of options, but having this much freedom will never be a bad thing! |
It's got friends |
The DCVH680JWW makes a great standalone dryer, but it's even better when paired with its friends. How could a dryer have friends? Well, in fact, it has a soulmate. The GE WCVH6800JWW is an exact match to the styling of the DCVH680. Together, they look even better, and they can also stack for more convenient storage options (stacking kit sold separately). But, the DCVH680JWW and the WCVH6800JWW both work extremely well with the SBSD137HWW. This GE pedestal accessorizes perfectly with the washer and dryer so they look even greater. But, it is also functional, serving both to raise the height of the laundry machines for easier access, as well as providing storage space for laundry supplies such as detergent and softener. With these friends, both you and your dryer will be happier. |
