| Since their release, the Whirlpool Duet laundry pair have been considered by many to be the best, most reliable dryer on the market, and this has made them one of the best overall sellers in the laundry world. But that wasn't good enough for Whirlpool. If something could be done better, by golly it would be. So, with their Duet set version 2.0 out now, Whirlpool has raised the bar on themselves. What changes come with the new dryer? For one, a new steam cycle was added to refresh lightly used garments. Whirlpool also increased the drum capacity to an industry-leading 7.4 cubic feet, enough to hold 16 pairs of jeans or king-size bedding. Steam? in the 21st century? |

| When you hear about the power of steam, the typical reaction is to picture fuzzy black and white film clips of iron trains hurtling down the tracks, black smoke pouring out of the chimney, brake lever broken off, damsel tied to the tracks just ahead. But steam power is not an ancient technology. In fact, it's a relatively new innovation in laundry. Very few laundry components have steam cycles. The Whirlpool Duet set is the first to feature steam cycles in both the washer and the dryer. In the washer, the steam cycle is used mainly to naturally remove stains, negating a pre-wash. In the Duet dryer, the steam cycle is a great way to refresh clothes that are just slightly soiled. For example, if you wear your clothes for a two-hour get-together, or you have children who change a lot, it wastes time, energy, water, detergent, and consequently, money to do that load of laundry. Now, you can simple throw them in the dryer for an hour or so, and pull them out as if they had never been worn. The steam cycle on the dryer removes odors and wrinkles as well. Best of all, this dryer connects to the water line for your washer, so you don't need to fill it before using the steam cycle. So, if you ever wash clothes that weren't really dirty, but because they had been worn once, this is the dryer for you. |

| The powder-coated drum on the new Whirlpool Duet is big. Really big. Big enough that you could charge for guided cavern tours. OK, maybe not quite that big. You won't have to worry about bats taking up residence in your new laundry set, but if you put your head inside the drum and talk, you'll hear an echo (not recommended). So, exactly how big is the Duet's drum? A whopping 7.4 cubic feet. That's a lot of laundry, real fast. That's one great way to get rid of a mountain of laundry fast. So, while we neither anticipate, nor accept responsibility for any trapped miners (especially since there's a drum light) in your new dryer, we do expect it to handle even the largest loads of laundry with ease. |

| When choosing a dryer, it's important to consider where it will fit in your home. When putting a dryer in your house, sometimes your laundry room is a little cramped. Flexible living arrangements |

| Front-load washers are not always easy to get into. That's why Whirlpool built optional matching storage pedestals for both the washer and the dryer in their new Duet set. These pedestals raise the laundry pieces either 10 or 15 inches (depending on which pedestal you choose), so you don't have to strain your back to move jeans from the washer to the dryer. They also provide room to keep practically all your laundry essentials like detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets. Or, you could opt for a laundry tower or two. These two-drawer storage stackers make a great place to stow laundry products not currently in use. If you need somewhere to set clothes for just a moment, as opposed to a floor that could be cleaner, the work surface is a great product to look into. This tray rests atop the washer and dryer and makes a great workspace (i.e. folding clothes) or temporary storage space. The best part is, all of these optional products are manufacturer made, so they fir the Duets perfectly. This is a great way to keep your laundry room organized, especially if it is lacking space. With these optional products, your life just got a whole lot easier. |
