The Whirlpool Duet set is the first to feature steam cycles in both the washer and the dryer. In the washer, the steam cycle is used mainly to naturally remove stains, negating a pre-wash. The powder-coated drum on the new Whirlpool Duet is big. Really big. Big enough that you could charge for guided cavern tours. OK, maybe not quite that big. You won't have to worry about bats taking up residence in your new laundry set, but if you put your head inside the drum and talk, you'll hear an echo (not recommended). This tray rests atop the washer and dryer and makes a great workspace (i.e. folding clothes) or temporary storage space.
