Technology to Call Home About |
The KTXG5100 uses advanced technology to provide you with a very advanced phone system. 5.8GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than 2.4GHz technology, yet maintains outstanding levels of security, clarity and range. You can add up to seven additional handsets (sold seperately) anywhere in the house while using only one base unit and one phone jack. This eliminates the need to rewire your phone line to other parts of the house. Call waiting caller ID (works with proper subscriptions from you phone company) on the base and handset displays the name and number of incoming callers, even if you're on another call. Up to 50 names and numbers can be stored in memory for easy retrieval and direct callback. The KXTG5100 includes an all-digital answering system with 3 mail boxes. Messages are recorded on an advanced microchip for quiet operation and easy retrieval. The total recording time is 15 minutes. |
As If That's Not Enough... |
There are even more useful features on the KXTG5100 that you'll love. Take the dual speakerphones on the base unit and the handset, enabling convenient, high-quality hands-free conversations. Or the clarity booster that combines two voice paths, helping the handset to improve clarity in an area where there may otherwise be interference. The 4-line backlit LCD on the handset and the base unit show call status, programming options, directory items, and if you subscribe, up to 3 lines of caller ID information, so there's no need for scrolling. And backlighting helps to aid visibility, especially in low light areas. |
Wait, There's More |
This phone can really help you out in a lot of ways. One interesting (and money-saving) feature is the toll saver, which allows you to avoid toll charges when checking your messages when you're away from home. If the system answers on the first ring, then you have new messages. If it doesn't, you don't have any messages and you can hang up before the call goes through. A navigator key lets you easily control the handset volume and ringer level, as well as the phone directory & dialer, caller ID memory and other advanced functions. The answering system features a voice synthesizer that prompts callers through the messaging system and identifies each incoming message with the time and day it was received. |
Expanding Your Capabilities |
If you decide to really take advantage of the KXTG5100's capabilities, and purchase additional handsets, you'll appreciate some additional technologies. Join In/Privacy Mode lets you block all other handsets from joining in on your conversation. This feature automatically shuts off when the call is completed. Phone directory sharing lets you share the names and phone numbers programmed in one handset with any other handset in the system. You can also enjoy conference calling with an additional handset, and you can also call any other extension in the system from the base unit or a handset. |
