The Movie Theater In Your Living Room |
Going to the local cinema is a lot of fun, but these days, it might not be worth it anymore. You drive to the theater, wait in a long line, pay ten dollars a ticket, and another ten for popcorn and drinks, watch half-an-hour of previews, and then try to watch a movie while everybody around you is crunching ice, talking to friends, and squirming around. Panasonic has an alternative. Why not bring the theater home? With their PT50LCZ70 flatscreen projection television, you can do just that. Imagine watching your favorite Hollywood flick on 50 inches just across the room. This model features a 16:9 native aspect ratio, so widescreen videos fill up the screen for your viewing pleasure. It also supports the highest-quality HD content available, 1080p, and so with a contrast ratio of up to 3,000:1. Furthermore, the PT50LCZ70 has an advantage over any theater: you get to set it up. This means that when you watch a video on your new Panasonic wide-screen, its adjusted to your preferences, so the movie is always seen "just how you like it". So, next time you're tempted to look for the keys when you go to watch a movie, instead pull out one of your old favorites, grab a drink from the fridge, and experience the movie like before with the PT50LCZ70 from Panasonic. |
LIFI |
The Panasonic PT50LCZ70 is equipped with the latest technology in LCD lamps: LIFI. LIFI, short for LIght FIdelity, has several advantages over traditional High Intensity Discharge Lamps. For one, LIFI lamps have extremely long lifespans, and may not ever need to be replaced. This is because LIFI lamps don't use electrodes, which also provides more stable performance. LIFI offers full-spectrum illumination to faithfully reproduce even the brightest red or the deepest blue. LIFI bulbs are also extremely quiet compared to their predecessors, so there is no constant hum as there was with the last generation of LCDs. These lamps also heat extremely quickly, so start-up time can be as short as ten seconds. The annoying flicker during video play is also history with LIFI. These high-quality lamps can promise you the highest-quality picture available with fewer problems than ever. |
Get Rid Of Your Cable Mess Or Not |
If you have even a moderately complicated home theater setup, you probably have a pile of tangled cables on the floor behind it. Imagine replacing all those cables with a single cable that carries both digital video and audio at the same time. With the new HDMI standard, that's exactly what you get. This TV is equipped with three HDMI inputs, so you can finally get rid of the cable mess. However, if you have attachment issues, and decide you simply aren't ready to part with your old cables, the PT50LCZ70 is very understanding. It also features many other connections to accomodate you, including two component video inputs, three composite video inputs, and an s-video inputs, as well as a host of audio inputs. The choice is yours, and your LCD will stand by your decision 100%. |
Pulling Signals Out Of Thin Air |
By now, most people are making plans of how to deal with the blackout date for analog television. Now, as congress considers whether to keep the April 2009 date or move the deadline up to December 31, 2008, it might be time to kick the planning into high gear. If you are debating whether to buy an HDTV now or wait until closer to the blackout date, there has never been a better time than now to get ready for the analog cut-off. The Panasonic PT50LCZ70 is a great answer to congress' resolution. It offers amazing picture quality, features HD up to 1080p, features a long-lasting LIFI lamp, and is equipped with inputs for all the latest components, as well as connections for classic ones, so this TV may never be replaced during your lifetime. Best of all, it comes standardly equipped with an HDTV tuner, so it is ready to receive over-the-air HD broadcasts right away. Don't wait until the last day of analog to make the switch! With over a year between now and the cut-off date, consider how many hours you will spend watching television or movies at home. You could spend them watching your current set, and buy your new HD set-up later, or you could enjoy the best picture available and avoid the frenzy of last-minute HDTV shoppers. The choice is yours. |
