The LG 65LW6500 LED 3D HDTV has it all, and then some. This 65" beauty features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution with LED backlighting and local dimming for incredible contrast and detail. There are plenty of different picture modes, and Picture Wizard II and ISFccc-readiness ensure that your picture is fine-tuned to be "just right," while an Intelligent Sensor adjusts the brightness based on your room's lighting so the picture maintains optimal brightness, day or night. The sensor also helps save energy, leading the 65LW6500 to earn ENERGY STAR certification. But this LED LCD has much more to offer. It's also a 3D TV, so you can enjoy the latest Full HD 3D Blu-rays. It will even upconvert 2D content to artificial 3D, and the LW6500 will let you adjust the depth on your 3D so it looks natural to you. Four pairs of 3D glasses are even included! The included Wi-Fi adapter gives you even more entertainment options. DLNA certification lets you access media from other devices (like PCs) on your home network. But the fun really starts with Smart TV and the LG App Store. Smart TV offers instant streaming from a wide variety of top content providers for movies, TV, music, and even photos. Meanwhile, the LG App Store lets you download a variety of fun and useful Apps to your TV, from social networking to entertainment to informative Apps. With this TV, your entertainment options are virtually limitless!

Not all 3D is created equal

The LG LW6500 Series utilizes passive 3D technology to create the 3D effect. With passive 3D, rather than having two separate pictures per frame, one frame is shown with the pictures for both the right and left eyes. The glasses feature special polarized lenses so that each eye only sees that part of the picture meant for it. Not only does this make the glasses lighter, more affordable, and more comfortable, it offers a wider viewing angle and smoother picture. Passive 3D is the same technology used in 3D movie theaters. Because of its numerous advantages, passive 3D systems like LG's Cinema 3D TV are actually preferred 3 to 1 by movie-watchers. So as you shop for a new 3DTV, remember that not all 3D is created equal.
