Your search is over
We’ve all seen it before: promises of Internet from your HDTV dashed when you find that you’re limited to only a slim selection of the vast content available. A quick search online for an Internet TV will show millions of possible results, ranging from the limited to the complicated. Thank goodness Google and Sony have teamed up, utilizing the new Google TV system to create a truly integrated web and TV experience. With Google TV you’ll be feeling lucky because you don’t just get access to limited portions of the web, you get access to all of it. From the comfort of your living room sofa, you can view and interact with your favorite blogs, e-mail, social networking sites, and video sites. We would be more specific, but with something as limitless as the web, even describing it in general terms could take awhile. Plus, Internet and TV don’t just live in harmony within your HDTV, they work together with picture in picture capabilities so you can be surfing the web in one window while your movie or television show plays in another.
Your search has just begun
Google is one of the leading search engines available, and they bring that search power to your television. Not only can you search through online content with the Sony Google TV, you can also search through TV guides to find shows you want to watch. With hundreds upon thousands of television channels available (depending on your area) finding when your favorite show is going to be airing is no small feat. With Google TV, it will not only find when it’s on, it can also find extra online resources for you (miss an episode and need a recap? Have a burning theory you need to share? Want to know what your favorite actors are up to?). Plus, DISH subscribers can use Google TV to search through movies, music, and other content saved to their DVR.
Let’s talk TV
The Sony Google TV is not just an incredible fusion of HDTV and Internet; it’s also an incredibly good-looking TV on its own. With a bright, edge-lit full HD 1080p LED screen, the 46GT1 boasts deep darks and striking highlights, while 24p input makes sure that your movies look smooth and natural. The stylish, slim design can be placed on a TV stand, or easily mounted on your wall. Four HDMI inputs make sure that you can connect all your favorite devices.
No fret, no frown
With so many incredible features, some people may be looking for the strings. Well, with Wi-Fi capability, we can say you won’t be seeing any when you go to connect to your existing home network. Plus, the RF keypad remote means you won’t be having to wire a mouse and keyboard to your HDTV to get full control over its expansive capabilities, a keyboard and touchpad mouse built into the small, comfortably-handheld remote give you all the control you need. Oh, and did we mention you can also download an app to your Android or iPhone smartphone that allows it to act as a controller for your Sony Google TV?

We finally bought our first flat screen tv. Sure glad we waited and got the Sony google smart tv. I considered all of the smart tvs and think this is the best offered today. Set-up was pretty easy. It took some time but not bad, maybe an hour before it was all ready. Its so nice to have an alternative to television programing with youtube or web surfing. The remote has been easy to use after a little getting use to it. Picture quality is great in our opinion but considering we went from a 27 old style tv maybe thats not saying much. We have yet to use netflix or the other apps. I did notice some online programing is blocked to this device which is the only complaint I might have. Vanns was awesome to work with and super value.
