It features an impressive 14-millisecond moving picture response speed, so fast-moving objects found in sports or action movies are displayed with great clarity. And the Advanced LCD Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology goes beyond Panasonic's previous system, using advanced picture processing circuitry to achieve extraordinarily deep, lifelike images. The new system provides the luminance distribution in real-time and then boosts gradation in the luminance areas containing the greatest number of image elements. Moving Right Along |
The component video input on the TC23LX50 delivers outstanding resolution and color accuracy of video images from a variety of sources, including DVD players, by keeping the separate signal elements of video images intact during the transmission process. Another technololgy that ensures picture-perfect images is the motion Adaptive 3D-Y/C Digital Comb Filter, which displays bright colors and fast-moving scenes with incredible clarity by minimizing the color rainbow effect in closely spaced patterns, compensating for the motion that occurs between fields. |
Advanced LCD Panel Technology |
The color filter and backlight (fluorescent lamp) of an LCD panel are the keys to color reproduction. Using a thicker color filter improves color purity (vividness), but it also reduces light transmittance (brightness). Panasonic's newly developed LCD AI increases brightness and allows the use of a thicker, higher-purity color filter. This dramatically increases the color reproduction range, resulting in strikingly vivid colors with greater depth. The color temperature has also been raised by optimizing the characteristics of the fluorescent lamp for purer whites. Using a high-uniform-brightness LCD panel has helped Panasonic achieve a picture brightness level of 500 cd/m2. A new panel fabrication technique has reduced light leakage during black display, improving contrast ratios to 800:1. |
