Clearer than ever
This LCD TV features LED edge-lighting. Chances are, if you're looking for a new TV, you've heard about these "LED TVs", but you may be wondering why they're such a big deal. Allow us to explain why using LEDs to light your TV's panel is so much better than traditional incandescent bulbs. The first, and most obvious advantage that LEDs have over other LCD TVs is that they offer a better picture with amazing clarity and color detail. On top of that, LEDs are much more energy-efficient than traditional bulbs. 1000 words isn't nearly enough

If you go by pixel count, its picture is worth well over 2 million, with its 1920 x 1080p resolution. This is the best resolution widely available, and includes more than six times as many pixels as standard-definition TVs and more than twice as many pixels as 720p HDTVS. Helping ensure that your media looks as lifelike as possible, a 120Hz refresh rate provides smoothness and clarity for even the fastest on-screen action. This is critical for content like sports, action movies, or video games. Excellent picture and great price from Vanns. The sound is a bit weak as other reviews state. However hooked to an LG Home Theater Blu-Ray the sound not only works great with multiple options but you can correct sound picture mismatch easily. I played Avatar in Blu-ray and it almost looked like 3D.

I got this TV based solely on research and other reviews. I had never seen it in person. There was such a consensus that this TV was awesome, I felt confident in the order. I was not disappointed. This display is gorgeous with tons of fine control over the picture to suit your preference. When you factor in the price, a great buy becomes an incredible buy. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great picture - purchased three of these. LG is one of the very few manufacturers that still include a standard analog headphone jack on the flat screens. It is an expensive work around to connect headphones if the analog jack is not present... Great for watching at night without disturbing others.

I have to say that this tv is amazing! the picture quality is so crisp and beautiful! it has great vivid colors, and different setting to fufill different moods.. it also has trumotion, which is awesome. it make sports look that much realistic! i really have nothing bad to say about the tv! it is very lite and i know some people has said that the sound on this tvs is bad, but i havent notice it and i think it has a really good quality sound.

This is second purchase from Vanns in a last year for me. I was not planning to by a TV from online store especially 42 inch, but cost savings and free shipping convinced me. Sales staff on the phone was knowledgeable and confident. Order over the phone took only couple of minutes. TV was delivered as advertised. Vanns provided the FedEx tracking over email, that made it easy to make sure that someone was home for the delivery that day. If no one is home TV would be sitting at the front door, that might be risky in some neighborhoods. LG 42LE5300 TV is a great buy. It is extremely thin and very light. Picture quality is great.
