Picture the possibilities
When it comes to viewing incredible new worlds, you don't just want a 3D picture. You want an incredible 3D picture. But, even more than that, you just want an incredible picture in general, whether you're watching the latest Blu-ray movie, or streaming one of your favorites from the web. The Sony 55" KDL55EX720 brings you a bright, vivid, thin panel 1080p television thanks to LED lighting around the edges combined with enhancements like Deep Color, and its X-Reality engine that analyzes every scene to provide the best in sharpness and contrast. Add in MotionFlow XR 240Hz processing that enhances the sharpness of fast movement or action, and you've got a TV worth getting lost in.
Streaming, Skype, and DLNA… oh, my!
In today's world, entertainment doesn't just stop at what you've got on hand: online there is nearly a limitless amount of options for movies, music, and more. The EX720 helps you to tap into that deep well of entertainment by providing access to streaming content from providers like Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, and many more, alongside DLNA compatibility that lets you take movies, music, and photos stored on your home computer and display them on your HDTV. You can even turn your TV into a social hub by adding the Sony camera/microphone and taking advantage of Skype video chat. Connect to your home network without the wires when you add the Sony UWA-BR100 Wi-Fi adaptor.

I bought this tv to replace 42 Phillips that went out after 3yrs. I have been using this 55 Sony for 2 weeks and I am still amazed by the picture. The tv works fast, comes on almost instantly when the power button is pressed chanel and volume adjustments are fast. Has all the inputs I need, it also is compatable as my computer display and the remote is easy to use. The sound quality is the only weak spot, no bass, although during music and action sections of movie the voices come through perfictly. I would reccomend this TV I believe it is a good value for the price.

We selected this TV because it fit our limited wall space, and have a smaller Sony HDTV that we like. This TV easily mounted flat with standard lg TV mount. Found it very easy to set up with the new Sony theater sound bar system and Sony Blu-ray DVD. The TV picture clarity, especially on HD, is very crisp-feel as though were in the picture! We hate to watch older TVs since our new SONY HDTV is so great. Our room is very bright with wall of southern facing windows, but the picture is always sharp & clear, so very easy to see and does not wash out during peak on sunny days. All our Sony components control with one remote so easy to use. Sony support helpful during setup of TV, DVD and sound bar. Bought the 3D glasses for this TV, but now decided to purchase the WIFI plug in. Since 3D very rarely used, now realize that WIFI built-in , rather than WIFI ready TV, would have been more useful to our family. Originally thought our new SONY Blu-ray would handle Internet streaming, but found it only handles HULU and Netflix access built into Sony DVD, rather than accessing all Internet as the DVD player salesperson told us bought DVD at Sony store a week before ordering TV, not at VANNS where TV and sound bartheater purchased so have to now spend another $80 for TV to get Internet access. WIFI ready, rather than WIFI built in, is the only disappointment in this TV at this high price point Disappointed that SONY charges so much for the SONY WIFI plug in, which competitors sell for their specific brand TVs at half the price. . Otherwise give TV a 5 STAR rating.

The last Sony Falt Screen I bought was over 4 years ago and I was very happy with it. However these new flat screens have much better visibility, thinner and integrated Netflix make it a very compelling replacement.
My only criticism is that I was initially shipped a TV with one bad pixel, however Vanns were very efficient in replacing the TV and I am happy again -

This TV was almost perfect out of the box. Made slight color adjustments, that was it. I didn't get the 3D, so nothing needed there, but picture is fabulous. It is so sharp, some movies look like video tape.

This is a great T.V. Very good picture and the 3D for games or when using it on the internet is awsome. The only thing is that you need to have the video picture mode setting on vivid rather than standard to get the best LED picture.

Black levels are nice on this TV. When I first received the TV, ran a calibration disc on it. The factory levels are very good. Hardly changed a thing. Plays movies at 24 fps very smoothly at 1080p. High-Def TV looks decent. At 240 Hz, fast motion panning looks odd, but that seems to be typically of every LCD TV I looked at. One cool feature on this set is called presence detection. Basically, the TV automatically shuts itself off when it cant detect someone watching it. This works well. Only complaint is that when wall mounted, the component and hdmi inputs are hard to plug into.

After shopping around for approximately 3 months for a new living room TV, I finally stumbled upon Vanns deal for this TV. I was originally going to get a 1 year old Samsung model that received many good reviews but this TV was only $30 more and had a few extra features to boot like 3D and the internet apps. TV arrived 5 days after ordering which was free so I was extremely pleased with this aspect. Checked the TV before accepting delivery and began to setup the TV in my living room. This TV was replacing a 5 year old Samsung LCDTV so my expectations were quite high. Setup was very brisk until I had to go through each window to input settings like clock, time zone, and so forth. After 5 minutes, the TV was up and running. I would highly suggest adjusting the settings to your own room as the default settings were OK but could benefit a lot with a little tweaking. I plugged in my PS3 and popped in Avatar Blu-Ray to do a test run. My parents were in awe as they couldnt stop talking about the detail and color compared to their TV. Did not get the wireless dongle and just plugged in network cable into the back. Ive tried a few of the included internet apps such as youtube and pandora which is handy when you want to pull them up quickly. No dead pixels! PROS -Excellent picture quality, havent adjusted the settings completely but so far so good -Interface is straight forward, easy to navigate -Value, has the essential specs I really needed and a few extras which were nice Cons -RemoteInterface for typing text is old school as there is no keyboard on the remote nor virtual keyboard -Some apps needed some troubleshooting to get them to work To wrap it up, Im extremely pleased with the TV so far and have not had any major issues. Have not tested out 3D but do not expect the TV to fail me
