A front row experience every time
Entertainment at home should be more than just passable: it should be an event that you enjoy just as much as you would at the theater. And with the Sony KDL-55HX729, you'll have that front-row feeling every time you turn on your TV. Starting with the 55" 1080p screen, the KDL55HX729 displays a vivid, lifelike picture. An impressive advanced motion processing technology, Motionflow XR 480, reduces blur and enhances image sharpness on even the fastest fast action sequences. No matter what you're watching, you'll be sure to see a clear, fluid picture. And as far as content type, your options are wide open. Got 3D? The KDL 55HX729 features a built-in 3D sync transmitter. Once you slide on the 3D active glasses (sold separately), the on-screen image is precisely synchronized and delivered with the Full HD image intact. Of course, you can enjoy any 1080p content, even movies or TV shows you stream from Hulu Plus using the built-in Wi-Fi connection. In fact, you can even stream your favorite music on the KDL-55HX729 and use the HDMI v1.4 port with Audio Return Channel to send the signal back to your receiver and listen over your surround setup. And all of this technology is strategically packed into a super-slim LED panel that even manages to stay a few steps ahead of the energy efficiency standards outlined by ENERGY STAR. To watch the KDL-55HX729 is to love it.

Everything started out bad, but worked out in the end. I got an good deal on the TV, but had a little trouble with the shipping. The company Vanns uses for my area was going to make me wait an extra week before delivering my TV. With college football set to kick off, getting my TV a week later wasnt an option. I contacted Vanns and eventually spoke with Travis Vanns Commerce Manager who was an outstanding guy who fixed everything. Travis allowed me to go pick up my TV from the shipping companys warehouse 2 hours away . Travis gave me an additional credit on my TV to cover my gas along with compensation for my trouble. Travis also allowed me the leniency to pick it up and get it home with an additional 14 days to make sure everything was ok with the TV. Travis along with Diane Westbrook made my experience with Vanns well worth the little bit of trouble I had. Now for the TV. The picture is excellent right out of the box. I did notice some pixeling on it when watching college football during high action sequences which to me is unacceptable. I recommend going to cnet and calibrating the TV settings to get optimal performance for both sports as well as movie watching. Here are the settings Im using currently and they seem to be working well.

These settings are for the 55HX929, but they seem to be working really well for my TV. On sports content you need to only adjust the brightness and backlight up to get the desired picture. Also if you are using DirecTV for HD make sure you have the DirecTV receiver format changed to the 1080 normal setting. Im still within my 14 days, but after making these adjustments Im very
satisfied so far. Hopefully this review will help those who are trying to decide. I grouped this TV with Sony HT-CT150 for my surround sound. It uses Bravia sync and syncs itself with the TV with no problem. Highly recommend using Vanns as their customer service is unmatched in the industry!
