Without special built-in processing technologies, this method can result in an image with a slightly choppy or flickering transition between images. Progressive scanning, on the other hand, writes each line of the entire scene sequentially, and in the same time it takes interlaced scanning to write each half separately. The result is nothing short of a smoother, cleaner video image. In combination with a fast panel-response time (i.e. how fast the panel's pixels can show a new image), the KDL19M4000's progressive-scan capability is ideal for fast-motion video, like action movies or sports.
