Innovative |
Only GoVideo gives you the innovative features and capabilities of a state-of-the-art DVD and VCR integrated into one clever combination component that is simpler to operate than most stand alone systems. With the VR4940 DVD Recorder+VCR it's a simple matter to transfer your VHS recordings to higher quality, longer lasting and easier to store DVDs, or record programs directly to DVD-R or DVD-RW discs. The integrated Hi-Fi VCR is also incredibly easy to use and provides all the performance you would expect from a quality stand-alone VCR like Hi-Fi recording and playback and a 4-head system for superb slow motion and stop action. One-Touch Recording and One-Touch Copy bring one button ease to both sides of this incredibly convenient component while thoughtful extras like auto clock set and channel search make setup a snap. Go with GoVideo and in one sweet stroke you can simplify your system, save space in your entertainment center and condense your video collection. Take a quick scroll down the page and you'll soon see that the performance to price ratio of the VR4940 makes it an exceptional value. |
It's Not Rocket Surgery |
Talk about easy to use. Even if you have the short term memory of Ozzie on a bad day, you'll get along handsomely with GoVideo's VR4940 thanks to their MyDVD feature. Most DVD players make you reset your preferences every time you load a new DVD. With MyDVD, your set-up preferences are stored in memory so you're ready to roll as soon as the disc starts spinning. Especially if you take advantage of GoVideo's EZ Play feature to automatically skip trailers and menus and get right to the movie. Some combination components show you an innocent looking face and promise convenience and simplicity. From the front, it seems like hooking one up would be about as easy as taking Rover for a walk. Then when you get it home and begin to understand its other side, you realize it is as complicated as taking rover for a walk; on Mars! In some cases it seems like it requires almost as many cables too. With the VR4940, just select the video output that's the best match for your system and you're good to go. Since all the video outputs, even Component and S-Video, can be used for either DVD or VHS output, you don't need extra cables, or have to mess with switching things around every time you switch formats. The VR4940 is impressive without being intimidating. In fact, you could have the coordination of Inspector Clouseau at his clumsiest and a brain that can't quite grasp the vagaries of tuna fish trademarks; and still find it quick to connect and easy to enjoy. |
The Real Appeal |
If all you ever used your VR4940 for was recording your favorite shows and archiving your old videos, you'd probably still get your money's worth. But to not take advantage of all the home theater excitement you can get from the VR4940 makes about as much sense as decorative soap. If you have it, why not use it? DVD rocks when it comes to home theater so GoVideo gave this player the goods to get the job done. You can output Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound to your surround sound receiver using either Optical or Coaxial Digital Audio outputs and enjoy a real sound fest every time you drop in a DVD. Switch the Component Video outputs over to Progressive Scan then use them to hook-up to a progressive scan compatible TV and feast your eyes on vibrant high-resolution video. If your entertainment system is not yet fully home theater ready, the VR4940 can still give you a good taste of the home theater experience with GoVideo's Virtual Surround 3D Surround system. Another key aspect of the home theater experience is control. The included remote control gives you power over all the functions of the VR4940 as well as other key components of your system, even other brands. |
Multi Talented |
In keeping with the themes of innovation and convenience, GoVideo included a front panel DV camcorder input (1394) on the VR4940 so you can view your DV videos and record them to DVD with minimal effort. Also built into the front panel are a set of RCA style inputs (composite video and L/R audio) and an S-Video input. The front panel inputs are concealed by a hinged panel, giving the VR4940 a sleek appearance when you're not using the inputs for convenient connection of camcorders, game systems or anything else you might want to plug into your system for a time. If you have rug rats running wild at your pad, you have even more reason to appreciate concealing those connections. After all, those RCA style inputs look remarkably like the sharpener on a crayon box. You'll also appreciate the front panel child lock feature to help you keep control even when you're not in the room. It's one of those "don't even try it" technologies undoubtedly developed by a parent. The kids may not appreciate the beauty of child lock, but everyone can appreciate the versatility of the VR4940. This one incredible combo can play DVDs, DVDR/RW, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW (including MP3 & JPEG files on CD-R/RW) and VHS tapes. The built-in 181 channel tuner is cable ready and includes an 8 event/1-year timer for programmed recording of your favorite shows. |
