| The DVS5860 may be called a DVD player, but it does a lot more than play the DVDs you rent at the video store. It not only plays DVD-Video, it also plays CDs and VCDs, as well as DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW recordable formats. You can play back CD-R/RW discs, including those that contain MP3, DivX and WMA files. The DVS5860 also has a JPEG viewer so you can look at photographs that you've saved on CD-R/RW discs. The high performance laser pick-up has independent heads to provide top-quality Video CD, SCD, and DVD performance. One thing that sets this player apart from the other manufacturers' players is Yamaha's CD UpSampling feature. For those titles which are currently only available on CD and possibly will never be released on DVD-AUDIO and/or SACD, this option converts standard CDs to the quality of DVD-AUDIO. Another great feature making this player unique is the bicompatibility between European (PAL) and North American (NTSC) DVD formats — a movie-collector's dream. | The DVS5860 offers terrific audio and video processing. 192 kHz/24-bit compatible audio digital-to-analog conversion assures that the player delivers superior sound performance. Yamaha's high quality, 12-bit108 MHz video DAC conversion assures the finest possible video performance. The DVS5860 also features CD upsampling. This allows you to convert your music CDs to a higher sampling rate using sophisticated digital signal processing for better sound quality. If you have activated the upsampling feature, the player automatically switches to stereo mode. |
