What's the deal with DDSC-HD? |
| Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit (DDSC-HD) is a circuit configuration specially designed by Denon to bring you the best possible sound quality. But what's so different about DDSC-HD as opposed to every other manufacturer's circuitry? The biggest difference is that most manufacturers combine all their circuitry into one lump bundle. Denon, on the other hand, chose the "divide-and-conquer" mentality instead. Rather than have all of the sound run off of a single circuit, they keep each portion separate from the others, thus the "discrete" nomenclature. This allows them to choose or develop the best individual components for each portion of the sound reproduction. By using the mix-and-match approach, they can ensure that each part of the process achieves the maximum quality, and thus, the end result is the best possible sound. |

Like a tank . . . |
| OK, so you can buy a Blu-ray/DVD player for a few hundred bucks at your local big-box store. What makes this one so much more valuable? Well, to start, the quality. Denon is designed to bring you the best audio and video around. A lot of manufacturers say this, but very few can walk the walk like Denon. Not only do they design products to bring you a mind-blowing video experience, they design them to do so for a long time.Where's the proof? On the DVD3800BDCI, they included a newly-developed transport mechanism for stable disc drive and high-quality playback. They protected the drive mechanism from magnetic influence, dust, and external vibration, and gave it a Suppress Vibration Hybrid loader supported by a metal damper and tra guide for stable disc rotation. It's built with multi-layered construction to eliminate outside vibration for stable playback. They also gave it a large base for stability, a highly rigid base chassis, aluminum front panel, dual-layered top shields, and triple-layered bottom shields. With this much stability in its design, it would practically take an explosion to interfere the DVD3800BDCI. |

The technobabble |
| Alright geeks and geekettes, here's your tech-jargon for the DVD3800BDCI: On the video end of things, it features a full 10-bit processing video circuit with Realta sxT2 HQV processing for i/p and scaling. This player also makes use of technology for HD/SD noise-reduction. It features mult-cadence detection for accurate i/p conversion, and is capable of full 1080p HD output at 24 frames-per-second. HDMI v1.3a output with Deep Color support is standard. To handle the conversion, Latest Analog Devices video DACs are used. Finally descrete and separate construction and circuitry is used for the highest-quality video processing available. The audio portion has chosen a similar route, including Denon's acclaimed DDSC-HD circuitry design. This gives it a performance edge over other manufacturers. A new dual 32-bit floating point DSP is used, along with Advanced AL-24 processing and Burr Brown PCM-1796 audio decoders for all channels. A master clock design is used for more accurate processing and less jitter noise. It has support for both Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio up to 7.1-channel bitstream output, and LPCM output up to 7.1 channels as well. Finally, it can decode Dolby TrueHD and dts-HD Master Audio to PCM multi-channel for an awe-inspiring audio experience. Translation: The Denon DVD3800BDCI uses the latest technology to look and sound breathtaking. |
