Denon DVD-2500BTCI Features |
Send your A/V on a safe hi-def journey with a Blu-ray transport |
| The DVD2500BTCI is a Blu-ray Disc transport that outputs video and digital audio signals via HDMI, eliminating sources of interference that might damage your audio or picture quality. The most advanced hi-def audio and video formats are supported Blu-ray Disc, Dolby® Digital TrueHD, dts®-HD and delivered as pristinely as possible to your flat-panel HDTV. Keep reading to learn how the DVD2500BTCI delivers faithful transmission of HD content via both digital processing and hardware design. |
Theater-like video performance |
| Thanks to 1080/24p HDMI output, your new DVD2500BTCI is capable of fully reproducing the video images recorded on a Blu-ray disc. The "1080" means that this Denon transport is capable of sending your flat-panel HDT a progressive-scan 1920 x 1080 resolution video image . . . the highest resolution available. Second, the "24" part lets you know that the DVD2500BTCI can also reproduce video recorded at 24 frames-per-second the same frame rate used by motion pictures. Simply connect the DVD2500BTCI to a 1080/24p display and enjoy the remarkable video performance of Blu-ray that brings out the full character of film content. |
Upscale resolution and scanning |
| Hi-grade i/p conversion and upscaling to 1080p, featured on the DVD2500BTCI, enhance your standard video experience. First, 1080p upscaling converts the resolution of your source material one of those hundreds of DVDs that make up your home video library all the way to 1080p, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels. I/P conversion, meanwhile, advances your video material from interlaced scanning to progressive scanning. This means smoother motion-picture image reproduction the entire scene is displayed every 1/30th of a second so that you can watch your favorite action scene without missing a single detail. |
Two design steps for an improved video experience |
| In designing the DVD2500BTCI to deliver a truer transmission of hi-def audio and video content, Denon has taken into account not only audio- and video-reproduction technologies but also the arrangement and design of the transport's physical components. First, video and power circuits have been separated into two independent blocks within the chassis and, to thoroughly eliminate signal degradation caused by interference between circuits, each circuit has been mounted on its own board. In addition, the top cover features a two-layered construction and the chassis bottom is constructed of three layers to protect the circuits from vibration. Second, the DVD2500BTCI features a unique drive mechanism that Denon has newly developed for use with Blu-ray discs. To further protect the internal disc space from magnetic influence, dust, and external noise, the Precision Drive Mechanism adds a shield to the bottom and top of the unit to create an ideal playback environment inside. Also, Denon has incorporated the critically-acclaimed Suppress Vibration Hybrid loader constructed with a combination of different materials to ensure stable disc rotation and greater accuracy in reading the disc. |

HDMIncredible |
| Bringing you the absolute best in hi-def connectivity, Denon's DVD2500BTCI features 3 HDMI connections. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all HD formats including 720p, 1080i and even 1080p. Your incoming media content comes in a variety of sizes, resolutions and formats, and with that in mind, HDMI systems automatically configure to display that content in the most effective format. Since HDMI carries all channels on video and audio, there is only one cable to plug into any HDMI-enabled source and display device. No more complicated cable set-up when installing your home theater system, and no more ugly cable mess behind your components. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on this single cable. Also, HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI. |

Deep Color&trade means more colors, smoother pictures |
| The story doesn't end there with HDMI . . . the DVD2500BTCI features HDMI version 1.3. An advantage of the expanded bandwidth of HDMI v1.3 is a new format known as Deep Color&trade, which increases the maximum number of colors that can be displayed. In televisions, color is separated into Red, Green, and Blue groups (RGB). All other colors are formed by a combination of these three basic colors. Increasing the range of each of these color groups increases the total numbers of colors that can be displayed. So instead of the 16.7 million possible colors that can be displayed through previous versions of HDMI, version 1.3 and Deep Color can display up to 1.07 billion colors. The human eye can only detect about 16 million colors, but Deep Color can eliminate color-banding artifacts while representing finer shades of gray by increasing the total number of displayable colors. (Deep Color provides for a wider spectrum of shades of gray as well). The result is a much smoother picture. |

A little support . . . format support, that is |
| Oh my, where to begin . . . the DVD2500BTCI supports a wide range media and playback formats. This Denon player-transport plays BD-ROM, DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW (VR mode supported), CD, CD-R/RW and such PC formats as MP3, WMA, and JPEG written onto VD-R/RW disce. The DVD2500BTCI also supports playback of DivX Version 6 files, a moving picture compression format. Supported memory card and playback files include: MP3, WMA, and JPEG files on SD, SDHC, miniSD, and microSD. (Note, a dedicated adaptor, sold separately, is required for miniSD and micro SD cards.) Finally, the DVD2500BTCI supports extended functions for BD-Video sub-video data, such as director's comments, recorded with movies on BD-Video discs can be enjoyed in a sub-screen along with the main screen. |
